I NEED HELP WITH NI MASSIVE

This is my first and definitely not my last post on this website i am new to production and have just begun what seems to be a very long journey ahead lol but i came across an issue that i need help with hopefully i am able to put this in the right words so you all can understand what my problem is..ok i was playing around with massive today and started pressing the keyboard buttons and it was making one noise...well after tinkering around and practicing and then closing massive and then reopening it i discovered that the noise i now make when pressing keyboard buttons is different. Also, earlier i followed a youtube video on how to make a dubstep sound in massive and when i made it at first it sounded great. But now since "something" has changed, i was unable to produce the same dubstep sound again following the same steps i followed before. I have no idea what is going on as i am still very new to production but is there anyway to restore massive and or ableton to the way i had it in the beggining? because im also having a problem with ableton....i can never get ableton back to the way it was when i first got it..when i click new live set, it still has a drum rack and the impulse rack? i tried deleting preferences.cfg file and this did not solve the problem. thanks for any help

Check that link. I don't even know if that will help you. Sounds like you have VERY basic questions, which actually can be the hardest because you have no frame of reference to understand even the words that will likely be said to you in response to your questions. HAHA. Uhm, I think you should watch the tutorials that came with live. Also, I'd post the question regarding live over on their forums. Lots of love for newbies over there. In terms of massive, you maybe want to save a preset of your sound? Maybe reading massive's manual will be helpful. Speaking of manuals, live's manual will teach you A LOT more than just how to use live. I STRONGLY recommend reading it from front to back, and then referencing it as you work with live.

sometimes when i open a recent project the sound has changed in massive, for me its always changed back to polyphon and trigger set to always... i'd start by checking there in the voicing tab

It sounds like the problem that you may have is one of two things - if you have the Demo version you cant save the new sound that you create till you have downloaded the full version ......alternatively (I may be stating the obvious here ) but did you save your original sound as a new sound i.e. is the sound that you are getting the default sound that comes with the programme? Have a loop on NI tutorial - its on http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... r/massive/?content=620&page=1540 a good way to get started and get a feel for playing with the programme . YOu can also learn a lot from the Manual ......if you come accross the this as a pdf please would you forward it on to me !! I have managed to delete the files but I found it a really good reference guide for random issues.

Thanks for all the responses guys i really appreciate you guys taking the time to help me out...i will definitely be reading the manual for both in the next couple of days but for now i am gonna be trying to fix massive as this has me freaked out atm. thank you for bearing with me as yes i am a "noob" to all of this. okay i guess i have a better way of putting this. lets say all of us opened up massive and we used the lets say 1991 preset that comes along with the program. and say we all used the very same midi clip as well....mine would not sound the same as yours. i cannot figure out why. I have the full version of ableton and masssive. any ideas?

You could have a different track armed than the one you previously had armed

Sometimes I will be using an instrument on one channel, switch channels and start using a different instrument but forget to change which channel is armed. So you will actually still be hearing the first channel when you mean to be hearing the second channel. Could be your problem or maybe not but it's something that happens to me once in a while. An easy mix-up

record the audio that comes out from a certain preset in massive and have somebody else render out the same preset and see if and how it sounds different
