So yeah, even though it's only a segment of 133,000 people who are "fans" of the scene...
It really shows that the majority of kids who are into Dubstep are the the sort of people most likely to play it from a device lacking any quality sub bass, which is probably the reason for the success of the more aggresive type of Dubstep.

those that grew up on 2000-2007 drum and bass, grew up trained to respond to big build ups, big drops. 170bpm.
those that grew up on 1994-2000 jungle and amens, grew up on tunes built around basslines, chopped up snare edits, and unpredictable arrangements 160bpm.
another thing that cannot be ignored is the smoking ban's effect on this whole genre.
