NI Massive help

Post by Blaaayzen » Thu May 05, 2011 2:29 am

So Im getting into making dubstep for myself and I have Massive and FL. Every time I try to put the plugin into FL it always says there is an unknown reason for it not working. Its a dxi if that matters? I then uninstalled MAssive and reinstalled it into the VST folder for FL. that didnt work. then I tried to mvoe the massivedxi.dll file around into different folders of FL. then I made some sounds in Massive but they save as ksd files and when I open them up in FL no sound comes out. These are probably noob questions but im completely horrible, please help a noob out.

Wait, so you're trying to open your Massive patches using FL? Am I reading that right?

oh, you own massive but downloaded FL?
that`s OK right?
you own at least one program so why not just download the rest, right?

And you don`t even want to bother to learn the basics of a DAW?
Digitial Audio Workstation in case you didn`t know that either.
That would be FL.
Massive would be the VST.
And your post would be the waste of time.

get it?

By patches he means the "sounds" you speak of.
For farks sake, just google something, anything.
Don`t just come in here and act like you don`t even care to learn.

The fact that you think moving the .dll file into random fl folders will help, means you need to spend some time learning computers.
I`m really trying to not be sarcastic here but I think I`ve failed dismally.

That awkward gap between tech knowledge of being able to pirate software but not troubleshoot your own problems
I would help you if i knew the answer, after all we've all started from the bottom, and paying hundreds of pounds for software when your starting a new hobby is not realistic at all.
Shame some people seem to forget this in their arrogance...

Thank you to the post above me. I was not ready to spend out the ass on FL when I had already purchased Massive. It was new to me and who knows I may not like it. Paying out the ass was not worth it when I could easily torrent it...

So why choose to download FL?
Why not use Reaper?
It`s a fully functional 30 day trial and even after 30 days a nag screen pops up but you still have full use of the program.
It`s a small download from their site.

But to put it all into perspective.

I started many years ago with a version of Cubase LE that came with my midi controller.
I experimented with free software for many years.
Until I was comfortable enough to consider paying for vsts.
By this time, I new which vst I was interested in so the process of purchasing said software became easier and not just the roll of a dice.

And on a side note, too often I get asked questions by people who DL cracked software but don`t actually know how to apply the crack.
If you don`t know the basics then why not try to learn a bit?

I`m not trying to be unhelpful, I just don`t understand why you think starting a thread and stating you are completely horrible so now help me.
It`s like a disclaimer before the thread starts.
"I`m a tnuc and really don`t want to learn to do this stuff so please tell me everything"

Now on with the thread.

And lastly, I`m not attacking you because you`re new.
Don`t be a victim, please.

I know for a fact that if I don`t bother to learn something and rather just ask someone to show me, I`ll get flamed from a dizzy height.
I think DSF respects folks who are willing to put some effort in.

However, I don`t want to give you the idea that I`m anti-help.
You`re a new producer, you therefore need help.
But remember that there are thousands of new users that ask the same questions and they get answered over and over.
Do a search and use google.

Both are very powerful tools.
Theres even a sticky for DSF specific google searching.
