NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Hey,
just been testing the NI Maschine yesterday to bring into a live setup. Anyone on here use it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQuzYO4h ... re=related
seemed really intuitive, though im wondering if I could get similar result with Ableton (what i currently use) and the Akai MPD32 midi controller

Nah, but i've wanted that thing for TIME, I love drum pads over anything else to write drums, I currently use FL's virtual one, FPC, it's a god to me!

Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
definitely agree with you on the drum pad front mate. Will post some videos up with which ever i opt for...
Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Have a look at the NI youtube channel. Far better examples of people using it then the one you posted.
I'd buy one for sure. You can run your VSTs within Maschine. Huge thing to have for a live set up imo.
If you a looking for drum pads that you can play live, go for the Akai MPC series.

Hey,
picked one up like 3 weeks ago and def glad i did. Super smooth and easy to set up with my midi keyboard, and using it with DAW (ableton for me) is just awesome too.
My fav thing about it that can just turn the cpu screens off, sit back, and make music from the hardware no problem.
Def has made making music even more fun for me so I'd highly recommend it.

Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Am saving up the income from my blog to buy one. About a quarter of the way there. I might bitch out and pick up razor though, so we'll see.
In terms of ableton, the only thing it offers is more hardware workflow with vst extensibility. Live plus an mpd can go a long way, or live plus a padkontrol and a bcd type thing can go a long way. I'm not sure I'd ever buy an mpd.

Have been creating grooves and loops on the fly mostly and then arranging them afterwards, been doing more and more arranging on the fly as i get better at it for sure.
Super intuitive piece of gear, makes workflow really smooth.
Have fun man im sure you'll get hooked.
p.s make sure you install the updates.

Kind of nerdy, but I assume that maschine, the software, is rendering out the audio, mixing the audio, any nerds have experience with the sound quality out of maschine?

What daw do you use though? I use flstudio, and I feel like Maschine likely does a lot of what I can already do.

Yeah, I really just can't figure this one out! I go back and forth. Now with vst support, I'm so close... just that pdc... I really want to know when ni is going to figure that one out. I've been in fl w/o pdc for a long time, and I'm just done with that business.

i feel your pain dude...i was a huge NI fan prior to Razor matter of fact. im getting annoyed about all this "you need reaktor" business....if i paid $70 for your plug in i expect to use it without having to spend more money to power it

Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
I agree on that one. Really they should be fully functional standalone vsts.
With that said, Komplete is like the H bomb going off in your studio...

Re
Yyou can do more with ableton for example than with maschine, sure FL can too. Find it's just got a way faster, and smoother workflow through using hardware, and it does more than enough to make entire track as you would with a DAW. just some of those smaller/intricate things it can't do/handle as well.
Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Do very many dub artists use it? I've wanted one forever, I use FL studio, it's hard having to just pick samples out and click in the patterns on the sequencer, I feel I could make some truly hypnotizing drum lines if I had something like a Maschine..
I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone

A keyboard would be a cheaper, more versatile option really.-TraX- wrote:Do very many dub artists use it?
