Not strictly true. Although Yoga is credited as being the source of some (arguably all) Kung Fu.

The vast majority of martial arts films i've seen, which is a fair amount, contain real styles.

OK, yeah, I see what you mean, but the styles themselves exist, they are just massively over exaggerated in those films.
For example, Chow Yun Fat learned the Wu Tang sword style for that film. I think he pulled it off very well considering he'd never had any MA training before starting CTHD.
House of flying daggers is mainly bollocks though, you're right there.

It's like the new Karate Kid film should have been called Kung Fu Kid, not Karate Kid, the style is the film is Chinese not Japanese
