The Circus Rec Compilation...

Post by dj seizure » Mon May 09, 2011 1:03 pm

I was doing my daily rounds of buying the ultra filth as usual and saw the Circus Rec compilation where they have teamed up with the coolest cats - UKF.

Aren't all of the tracks on the album already released?

Circus fail?

Think he's suggesting that a significant portion of the people who enjoy the music released on Circus aren't the type of people who are too hot on paying for music.

Does strike me as bit of a pointless compilation. I see it as more of a "Greatest Hits" rather than how I saw the Hotflush compilation as more of a "here's the sort of sound we release".

Ahhh I'm being slow.

Yeah I don't really get it. I don't understand why anyone would ever buy it.

I just play the premixed version on the UKF Channel, who needs to buy a cd when it's already mixed clean and in HD on youtube?

You fail to understand the idea of a compilation

Har.

I understand what a "BEST OF CIRCUS ULTRA FILTH COMP" is.

A normal Compilation would generally have new bits and bobs. This has ONE new track.

most compilations in the music industry are simply gatherings of existing tunes as a ploy to re-promote existing product

Example: Get Darkers This Is Dubstep is a Compilation. They compiled dubstep tunes you could have purchased elsewhere individually into a tidy package often times cheaper and more readily available.

Overhead for label: minimal
Profit: Major
