LOEFAH...
Re: LOEFAH...
Met him the other night and he's a proper nice guy. I told him how I was changing over from CDJ to turntables primarily for the swamp 81 label and he loved it. I can't put a bad word on anything he's ever done and even if you arn't fully into the stuff he's pushing and playing out nowadays there's no denying that it's a fresh new direction. I've never been influenced by music so much as to buy entirely new DJing equipment so big up loefah.
Re: LOEFAH...
Top bloke for sure. The scene would be much different without him.

same. swamp 81 has been pushing out quality AND quantity lately.Drop_Dead wrote:Jungle Infiltrator/Jazz Lick is a classic

safe to say if he's putting out on either a halfstep or house-y tip, it's bound to be rock solid

From the Blackdown interview with Loefah and Kryptic Minds:

That is pretty much what happens to me every single time I tell some1 that I listen to Dubstep.
I literally lol'dLoefah: It’s funny, me and Pokes were on Broadway Market just after Christmas before January DMZ, just getting a burger and a coffee. This girl came up to us and she was a student doing her dissertation questionnaire. So we said ‘yeah, we’ll talk about shopping habit at the market, blah blah blah.’ We got chatting and she was like ‘oh, what do you do?’ We said ‘music’ and she asked ‘what music’ and we said ‘dubstep.’ She was like ‘oh I LOVE dubstep… what’s your names?’ And we were like ‘DMZ’ and she was like ‘what’s that?’
Blackdown: So what acts had she heard of?
**knowing smiles all round**
Blackdown: Right, exactly.
Loefah: Them lot… yeah.

That's great.
No doubt he's a top guy in the scene.

Re: LOEFAH...
loefah is a badman he keep surprising me what ever he is doing with hes new label and hes production
It's about dropping a track at the wrong speed, and it sounding better than the real thing.
Re: LOEFAH...
so much respect for this guy... it's awesome to have seen him evolve like this but i never really got to enjoy the "old loefah" so it's bittersweet for me.

As far as I'm concerned Loefah is the fucking godfather and/or don.
Can't think of a bad release from him, or from Swamp, and I'm yet to see a substandard set from him. Probably seen him more than any other DJ this year and he never fails to bring the vibes.

In that same interview with Blackdown...
"To be honest ... I lost my confidence (in) the middle of 2007. I started writing tunes like “Disco Wrekka.” I think that’s utter bullshit that tune. Terrible.
B: I disagree.
L: To me, it’s dishonest. I remember sitting down in my studio and thinking ‘I have to write a tune that gets a rewind, I have to write a tune for the dance.’ And every time I heard it after it got released, I was like ‘why did I ever let it off? Why did I make it?
