Oscilator setup.
What tuning do you use when setting up your syths?
I usually tend to go for 0 -12 and 7 (semitones), but lately i've been going 4 instead of 7.
Anyone have a different way of tuning your oscilators?
It can be a tad stange when using the synth for chords in the piano roll, but single notes I find that it sound better.

Erm.. 0/-12/-24/-36/-48/+12/+24/+36/+48.
I keep them in tune and change the pitch with my piano roll. o.O
Or are you talking about creating Perfect 5ths, etc?

I just feel that using a chord-y kind of tuning on the oscilators, makes the synth sound fuller and broader. Was just wondering if anyone else did this?
Most tutorials on synths tend to tune em like you do, so that's why i asked

Re: Oscilator setup.
there are pros that do this, reso for example. but yeah, it can make it sound fuller, or sound like garbled trash. but if you find a sweet spot, use it.ComfiStile wrote:DannyDubstep wrote:Erm.. 0/-12/-24/-36/-48/+12/+24/+36/+48.

Re: Oscilator setup.
I tend to go the full octave, otherwise phase cancellation can change the tone.
But for pads or any other sound where it sounds good, I'll use what ever works.
Often 5ths and 7ths, especially on synth strings or pads

-24 saw wave+-30 sub bass=SIIICK
I pretty much go -24 for all my wobbles. -12 for all my saw waves/synths. 0 for all my high pitch stabs and additive synths here and there, and for some pads, but most the time -12 for pads.
