Need Some New Tunes. (HELP)

Post by Shmanti » Fri May 13, 2011 12:31 am

Ok so hopefully someone can help me find some new artists to get into.
Being that i live in California and everyone i know thinks Dubstep = Skrillex, and filth, and YOIYOIS, and facemelting and all the other synonyms that those hipsters use.

I would just like some soulful tunes.
And as for a reference to what i like, Kryptic Minds is probably my favorite of all time.
So what do you say someone help me out. Im just not sure if the good stuff is dying off or its just being overshadowed by the mainstream dubstep that is ruining the genre.

Quite the opposite my man.

if you're into the deeper stuff then check artists like... j:kenzo, seven, biome, truth, dj madd, jack sparrow.

Loads of good stuff around atm.

These are a few songs that i really think someone new to the scene would like:
DMZ - education
Quest - Last days
Kromestar - Reggie
DMZ - haunted
Burial / Four tet - Moth

Check them out on youtube or something, and follow similar links to the right of the videos and get lost in the dub

L-wiz is a Swedish duo making dubstep. They make music that's more on the deeper/older side of dubstep. You should look them up.
Tes la rok is also pretty deep I believe, all though I think he can be pretty raw in his tunes sometimes.
Then of course Coki and Mala too. They're the duo Digital Mystikz and they're pretty much still on the deeper side, I think and I hope.
Also head over to the Production Forum and check the producers there. There are lots of great producers making deeper music!

Wouldn't say Kryptic Minds are soulful...
