A bunch of colourful tunes

Post by kazuo » Tue Apr 24, 2007 6:13 pm

three new tunes (all done today) on myspace and my page (sig).
as (nearly) always i was too lazy/incapable to mix them properly but maybe someone likes them anyway ;)

titles are:
glow
violent swirly cutie
hi, sit down

as i listen to a lot of different stuff the style is moving a bit away from dubstep, but there are still major influences.

cheers, kazuo

always coming with something off the wall and unique. My fav of the bunch is really the violent swirly cutie. has such a full range from halfstep to the 4x4 and 2steppy vibes and even those straight up breakbeat switches. I dig how the bassline comes in early for mixing purposes. really gives the tune a full vibe the entire way thru. when you get a full mixdown done on this please let me know cuz i would love a 320. out of everything I've heard from you so far, I really have to say this is the most impressive work I've heard. The only way to compliment this tune any more is to make sure it gets a fat warm mixdown and this one is gonna be a monster :D:

ok had to add some more,

hi sit down - LOVING the acid line in this one. same kinda thing with the full range too, with having the halfstep and the 4x4 thrown in to create a great motion and movement. the overall use of that acid line helps to set a great vibe for it. there's a sound in the background that sounds like some crazy keys that should come up a lil bit in the mix, but not too much. excellent variation on the bassline to keep it flowing. sounds quite a bit quieter than the other 2 in the mixdown, but it doesn't detract from it too much (can be rectified in the final mix).

glow - nice 2 steppy vibes on this. bassline sets a great pace for the 2step drums and the pads give it a nice atmos to build on. this gets real funky about 1:35 to 1:40 in then drops back out to some minimalism and halfstep. excellent work man. I'm fully impressed with all 3 of these tunes, and really glad i took a moment to give all of 'em a re-listen and let out some words.

once you get the finals done on these please let me know. i really wanna see how these will go over with a crowd :D:

keep on doin what you're doin man. you keep progressing at an amazing rate, and '07 is still young ;) I predict some big things for you soon :D:

upped a new tune on myspace called mindset 4, a more or less classic dubstep thingy, apart from the tempo.
