Money will go to whichever charity gets voted for by the public/donors. Could be any charity, including ones to do with music of that's what people vote for.BeastModeForDummies wrote:is this going to be for any charities or ones pertaining to music in some way?
That's fine man, the most important part is getting the donations rolling. Once they start coming in, the amounts people donate will snowball & get bigger.drooka wrote:i'm not sure how much i could contribute to starting your charity, but if you keep me updated i'd love to donate once things are up and running
I will have the first edition of the website up and running by tonight.
So far I've got the urls registered, sorted out a web host, got the bank account opened and linked the paypal account to it.
With regards to actually registering as a charity, that is going to require some thought to prove how the project is of 'public benefit'. According to the UK charity commission, fundraising is not itself a charitable cause, even if the money is used to fund charitable things.
I've got a list of people I'm going to contact who may be able to help me think through the objects of the charity and become trustees.
Thanks guys
Patrick
