quite the contrary.... I'm one of the bigger trolls on the forum at times.

it's fun when it's funny. trolling for jokes is great... the skrillex stolen tune bit was fantastic. It was parody. It was comedy.

trolling and being obvious and attempting to prove a point is sad. When it's blatant and the target sees your troll and a dialogue comes out of the troll it is in turn a failure. Even more of a failure when the original troll thinks this is somehow awesome, even though their target has become aware of the troll and the troll wall has been broken.

Our forum does a great bit of awesome trolling. Very unique and very creative trolling. When you try and troll a topic you actually have convictions about it's usually because you don't have the ability to argue your point. People who troll in political threads do so because they have weak arguments, those who do it in music threads do so because they really can't argue any merit outside of it's just their opinion.

Not anti-trolling just set the bar fairly high for acknowledging an awesome troll job. Also trolling for anything other than the lulz is instant fail. Trying to prove a point with the troll is /facepalm

it's so scientifical

I stand corrected i didn't realise Modestep were coming to town

i'm sorry if i didn't make it clear...with this being a thread about a dubstep night....on dubstep forum n'all...But i was referring to the lack of good dubstep nights.

So you posting that link, holds absolutely no value.

Especially as (bar a few names) Electric carnival is gonna be one of the most Bro-tacular nights in history.

I think the world will end on the 21st of October so the date of these awards need to be made earlier so we can all see Mala B2B Skrillex

For an event of that size that is putting it mildly. Considering it's £35 a ticket as well. If it sells out they could pay each artist £1000 for playing and each venue would still make over 10g's.

If these are the people I think it is putting this on, then they are pretty genuine people.

Although I'm not sure dubstep awards type things will work I can assure you these guys aren't in it for the money. If it's who I think it is they've been attending gigs and events for years.

So if it is you.... Good luck with it all and hope it goes well.

I'm already wincing on your behalf for the backlash from either the deep heads or the noisy heads depending on who wins though...... Awards in dubstep just will NEVER please people!

Thank you mate! - Your kind words and support are really appreciated.

We hope that with our categories we can have a fair spread of winners, across all areas of Dubstep. I guess, the proof is in the pudding. :) - We do aim to please everyone and we can assure the DSF community that our hearts and souls are in these awards.

Whatever the outcome, we hope that people will enjoy the awards and help us celebrate the genre.

We will be releasing further information soon!! Keep checking in with the thread for updates.

Once again, thank you for your kind words and comments.

No problem,

Just worked out you are the guys I thought you were.

Again, don't take my words too heavily - I'm just an old fogie who loves a rant. Good luck with the event I sincerely hope you prove me wrong and the awards are well received. I'm sure you'll have a successful event on the night regardless, and anyone attending will certainly enjoy it - just don't expect to please any of the forums / bloggers / twitterers with this and you'll be fine.

Also, if I don't win every category (including best MC) expect me to be ranting on here and on my twitter about it all being a fix the next day

Hey mate,

Again, we really appreciate your comments and we thank you for sharing them with DSF. We sincerely hope to prove you wrong too dude! - At least you know it's in good hands and we'll put everything we've got in to making it special! Certainly an excellent show of celebration to the genre and it's supporters.

See you at the awards!! :)

Oh and we don't tamper with votes... Better get your lyrical talent locked down mate! :W:

To everyone on DSF...

We really do appreciate all your comments and feedback! - Thank you for stopping in the thread and taking time to share your thoughts.

We have more information to be released later this week.

Hope you're all having a great week,

something along the lines of "What right does this person have to make an awards on a genre hes pushed nothing into" and "noone should do this - noone owns dubstep"

i can agree to that. the awards on this site made more sense when dubstep was a small community... now that is had blown up these past five years, it doesn't make sense imho. especially with a genre thats so vague and multifaceted. it's impossible to represent even 50% of the sound and it's producers. people like awards and the drama that goes with them tho so have at it i say. different horses and all that
sub.wise:.
slow down
