Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
it would be impossible to mix with this for anyone who knows how to mix.
mixing is a game of CHOICES and COMPROMISES ... and the people who know how to mix do great stuff because of that....
its also why noobs / this ''tool'' fail at it.
as jaycen joshua stated in a Sound On Sound interview ''people pay me for my taste'' as opposed to the technical side of his job, that a lot of engineers actually get down....
a plugin that would make choices before id do would just drive me crazy, i like my tools to do what they can do when i tell them to do it... and i can do the rest by myself...
now a tool like that could still be useful in some restricted situation (eg : in the low register)

Any tool can be useful is abused enough. I really don't see the point of scooping out a frequency from one track and then putting in the exact same frequency from another track.
Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
^me neither
the more i think about such a tool the less i think it would actually bring anything relevant to our task...

I'd imagine you could get some pretty obscure effects out of it if you cranked it up. Paired up with different things like Stabs, percs ect.
I just think it would be pretty interesting, not sure that I'd use it for easymode mixing or anything tho:P
Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
hehe interesting.

Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
I can't see it being that useful (mixing wise) for anything other than sine wave leads or anything with little harmonics but if used creatively I recon it could give some pretty cool effects.
Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
I can see it being very useful for mixing. not that imma use it to replace EQ or anything, but it would be a great tool for mixing vocals IMO. And yeah, what comfistyle said, creative use may bring some interesting results
Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
i dont see how it could be useful mixing ... honestly
it would just be incredibly counterintuitive...
it would be a cool effect maybe.

Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
think im going to build in reason as combinator for shits and giggles
Re: New Plugin Idea | Dynamic Frequency Responder (not mine)
Do you guys really not see some of the potentials in this idea from a production state?
when used on complex synths you could be tracing our harmonics almost as if it was dynamic/moving comb filters that are custom made by yourself!
rephrase: you can design your own filter shapes and sounds and even have them moving, just mute the source signal PFL.
Also I could definitely squeeze this in my mixdown toolbox, shame on anyone who says this could be abused, its a tool and abusing is not always bad.
P.S. efence; if you actually get around to it I would love to see that combi. I really hope this plugin makes it further than FL/.dll

Been thinking someone should build something like this for a while, seems a much more logical way of mixing things.

I've been talking with the guy who cam up with this. Turns out, he's trying to build it himself since IL hasn't got on it. I don't think it'll be free, but reasonably priced. And I'm excited to be a beta tester too

Is there a place to register for a beta pass or do you just have to be BFFs with the dude? :pjrisreal wrote:I've been talking with the guy who cam up with this. built a super cheap one in reason

i might have screwed up the attack and release had it sounding all right with init settings on att/rel but i turned both down all the way on every compressor and now you get an almost poping sounding to the compressed bands if solo the effected channel

mine only has 16 bandsjrisreal wrote:@hasezwei not what its intended for...or what I would use it for either. Its main purpose is to mix vocals into instrumentals without ruining or compromising the instrumental. the sine lead in the video was used to show the concept
and the guy who made it said that it would have hundreds/thousands of bands, so it wouldn't be your average multiband sidechain compressor
