Because they ARE incredible at drum processing.. rhythms... pads and leads.. what are you talking about man :o that's like the entire point of the heavy side of dubstep.

I've nothing against harder music, but this stuff gets incredibly boring after a while. After te initial "oh wow, how filthy is that!" (no homo) there's nothing else to keep you interested. Vex'd managed to create some brutal, crushing music on their first album, but there was some serious moody and haunting atmospheres there to keep you wanting more.

I think it takes a lot more skill and talent to create a powerful, atmospheric piece of music that truly connects with people than trying to find the filthiest sounds and put them together in 4 second bursts with a boring drum beat underneath.

lol the music is shit? each track has the same idea? I'd say that "brostep" is about as repetitive (as far as song from song) as what you think "true" dubstep is limited to. It's clear to me you've listened to very very little - and what you have heard is likely the shitty "mainstream" tracks that do INDEED suck. It's just obvious youre too closed minded to even take the time to hear the musicality in a good track by an artist i listed. :cornlol:

those that know? I've only been listening to it since 2004... although didn't actually get into it til dubstep allstars vol. 2. I unlike you like all aspects of dubstep as long is it a truly good song. sorry you don't have the capacity to tell the difference. Youre just as bad as the hipster douchebag fucks that only listen to "brostep" because they think it's cool - only difference is you think youre unique and individual because you listen to the dark melodic dub - you pseudo intellectual douchebag.

+1. Half of these people wouldnt even know what dub or garage is and that annoys me. Most of those producers he listed are trying to gain a tiesto like following to make themselves into superstars., i wish people would stop sticking up for them. Money seems to be the main reason that they produce. Take skrillex for example who made shitty emo music, saw something he could cash in on and there you have it. His tracks are terrible, truly pathetic and it baffles me how people love him so much.

Yeah i definitely have been listening to garage and 2-step - where the fuck is the dub influence aside from the dub in dubstep. lawl go fuck yourself moron.

Brostep my ass. Judging by your list you seem like a knob who has no idea what they are talking about.

Reasons why brostep sucks:

-Mid range screechy sounds don't inspire dancing or reflection, just annoyance
-lack of original songwriting
-same drum beat where they only way you can dance to it is pretending you're a t-rex
-stupid fucking samples that appeal to teenage boys that play call of duty
-trying to imitate an already established scene
-arrogant wiggers
-cheesy fairy-like sounds that belong in trance
-attempts to make shitty noise dance-able by adding a fidget beat
-overused samples
-attempting to cover up a lack of composition with stupid 'filthy' textures
-shitty pop remixes
-people fucked on drugs listening to anything that sounds unorthodox
-bandwagon jumpers
-hardcore/metalcore/crabcore influences

tl;dr version: IDIOTS

did I miss anything?

everything you claim is absolutely false. there are certainly tracks that hit off everything you said.. but i would argue that some of the BEST percussion & creative synth arrangements are in what you would call brostep.... i just don't think you've heard enough GOOD dubstep by the above listed artists... try "the others - gravity" try "noisia - alpha centauri" try "Downlink - ANYTHING" ... my list that i mentioned was long yet incredibly limited. im not going to sit here and try to convince a fool but i will tell you to "google it" and stop being a closed minded moron that refuses to hear something before he hates it.

I honestly don't understand how anyone could listen to 'brostep' and claim to have been a listener since 2004. It's just over the top, cheap and above all irritating noise. Maybe you should listen to this shit through laptop speakers; mid-range is perfect for it.

Edit: I see you're from LA in the USA. Isn't 'bro' big over there?

Someone called me a moron on a forum, i feel so upset! So where are the dub influences in skrillex, datsik, excision or borgore? Now youre just talking a load of shit and i doubt anyone who's been into dubstep as long as you claim would be a lover of brostep, joker!

I can't believe Andy C is on the list....... He's been making music for nearly 20 years and has produced some of the best Drum'n'Bass tunes ever....

Eh, I just don't appreciate that aggressive midrange sound. That doesn't mean that I think everyone who makes brostep or whatever you wanna call it isn't talented or that I'm better than them. I've joked around about that kind of thing on the past here, particularly in relation to Borgore and shit, but it's not that serias.

I'm just not a fan.

you just answered your question of both why people dislike it, and why you're what you americans would call an utter douche

dub influence doesn't mean that it's literally dub music; it means that it has dub influences in the production techniques. garage dubs were mixes of a tune produced in this style, which then evolved into a genre in its own right - dubstep. the very same dubstep that in many cases now sounds so far removed from the original sound in so many ways that people (pointlessly) start getting angry about it. if you can hear any dub influences in the production of any "brostep" producers then you've got better ears than me

Basically the point i was trying to put across. Im sure theres a video of rusko saying that hes trying to put the dub back in dubstep, which is funny because he helped create the wave of bro's in the first place.
