Bristol’s six-strong Central Spillz collective are not just one of the most exciting and original acts working in British bass-driven music – they’re obviously very generous too.
Following the release in January this year of their debut album ‘Space Travel’, Spillz’s members (producer Superisk and vocalist Shadz, Redskin, Koast, Mackie Skillz and C-Strike-Z) have all been busy working on solo projects and playing at raves nationwide as the hype around the crew steadily grows. Despite their hectic schedules, Spillz have managed to find the time to bring together some of Bristol’s most intriguing breaking and established talents for a free five-track remix EP of tracks from ‘Space Travel’.
Rave-razing anthem ‘What You Know About’ gets reworked by dubstep young guns Statix and Clear Skyz’s D&B don Interface, while ‘Monday’ is glitched to within an inch of its life by recent True Thoughts signatory BenOne, and ‘I Wish’ is ripped apart and reconstructed with swagger and style by rising Bristolian dubsteppers Baked and OH91, both fresh from recent releases on Subdepth.
With the follow-up to ‘Space Travel’ in the works and the guys all boasting busy summer schedules performing across the country, if you somehow you still don’t know about Central Spillz, there’s no better way to introduce yourself than with this completely free seven-track EP.
