Does anyone know how to make C99/Davr style basslines?
If you have ever heard of C99 or Davr, you'll know that they make the heaviest, filthiest, and most robotic basslines...EVER (even more than Datsik or Excision).
I have searched, and searched, and searched on techniques on how they make these sounds, but obviously I have no luck :'(. Here's a 2 examples of the sounds I'm talking about:
C99: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-DV6kjZhEI
Davr: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DlIh2f2VDk
Does anyone on this planet know how to make these sounds?
Thanks and cheers!

screw around with granular synthesis, even the most stupid sample can give you robo dirt.

Try using the make this sound thread. Will get a lot more helpful replies there. This will probably get locked

i know davr uses massive and he lurks around on the forum as well so do a lot of producers too. just experiment. you should try to get your own sound though its much worth experimenting and getting something different than what everyone else has.
but if you want the sound i would say try using different filters on massive like the bandpass, bandreject, scream filter. try different wavetables, phase modulation, ring mod, also try putting an envelope or lfo on the wavetable position/intesity. use bend+ or bend- that adds a lot of grit

i think what makes his sound is primarily the reverb. with strong flanges.

Re: Does anyone know how to make C99/Davr style basslines?
thanks for all the help guys!
But I was looking for something on how I would tweak the oscillators in massive. I pretty sure that DatsiK layers all of his basses, especially to get his transformer like bass that he uses. But then again I'm wanting to make heavier, filthier, more robotic cyber sounding basses.
With that being said, can anyone tell me what settings I would have on the filters and/or oscillators. That would be ENORMOUS help!
Thanks and cheers.
