hehe, I was workin as a chef in a caf they used to film quite a few scenes for that film. In a precinct in Lenton in Notts. They put loads of false walling up and made it look like a proper greasy spoon. Some mental clothing styles goin on with the actors. To be honest there are a few folks round there who still dress like that! Shane seemed like a very nice man.

Umm, isn't this off topic?

'This is England' is ace. Caught a sneeky peak t'other day. My mate plays Woody in it and he's brilliant.

Catch the film at the cinema, support indie everything.

they filmed alot in bulwell in nottingham, the kids house is my mums next door neighbour. they filmed inside too.
used to live in lenton highrise too. saw some really fucked up shit in those flats.
i used to work evenings and quite a few times when i was comin home, othe outside area of the flats would be cordoned off due to somone getting stabbed or people shooting at each other. nuts.

I went to see it on Saturday morning... early bird first showing. Was great. There's a few good interviews with him on you tube, check 'em out. It's quality that he wants to stick to "low budget" flicks with predominantly unknown actors. He wants the money to go into the film not on caravans for the actors. :-)

check out this interview on bbc.

Shane, I wanna be in one of your films! If you're reading this, pm me :-)

apparently, the south bank show runs a video podcast of all it's programs, snappily named as a 'vodcast'.

The man is ace. My friend went to a q&a with him last week and sent me a pic of her self and him. I'd forgoten she'd gone and she sent the picture with a caption saying some thing along the lines of "Me and me mate Shane" For a second i was like " Who the fuck is Shane " then it clicked.

Here's said pic

Stuff like this proves how interconnected everyone is in Nottingham, I havent spoken to someone yet who doesnt live next to/knows someone who lives next to/was in the film/knows someone in the film/slept with shane meadows/ slept with shane meadow's wife etc etc...Even one of my mates girlfriend's friends was going on about how she was in this 'shit film about hooligans or summit', I asked if it was 'This is England' and she wasn't even sure! Stupid hippy bitch anyway.

Steven Graham is scary as owt in that film. Apparently, when he played Tommy ('the tit') in Snatch, a few scouse boys from round his ends took his on-screen, gangsta persona a little too seriously and kicked the shit out of him. Properly.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0334318/news

I know it can become hard to detach reality from fiction, especially when the standard of acting is as high as Steven Graham's in This is England, but poor guy.
