What sort of wave-form or shape is used in the first posts example? Would it be like an saw on each beat with little depth? i.e. |\|\|\|\

Cool, mine was pretty identical except in an automation clip rather than edit events. Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
I have an idea not sure if it will be as flexible or worthwhile but EFFECTRIX has a stutter function, it is one of my favourite effects units as it has a wide range of different effects, basically create a normal wobble and stutter it with Effectrix, I'm not sure if this would work as I am still a little new to the whole production thing, I'm not also not a huge fan of the wobble bass so haven't mucked around with the ideas too much yet.
Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
it's an interesting effect
but i think people are refering to a certain automated articulation of the wobble... listen to the sound examples given in this thread (i think they are by the beginning)
good fx tho

hey if anyone's still trying to do this, try using a sawtooth LFO w/ standard rate (1/8's , 1/4's , triplets, watev)
and then route your midi controller's aftertouch to the LFO rate. push a key, while sustaining push a little harder and it increases the rate. if u keep it synced and tweak the amount that aftertouch affects rate, the wobbles sound good and u can make that little drumroll stutter bit happen.

Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
i did it in Thor because its the only synth i really know well enough, the mod matrix is so easy to do this with. Just select as source: performance -> aftertouch, and destination as LFO 1 rate, set the amount to taste, and experiment with key pressure on your midi controller. If in Reason, (or likely many other software) you can also draw automation data for the aftertouch to fine tune it. Of course, if ur gonna draw it out, you can just automate the LFO rate in the first place. I like this way because it makes the synth patch more unique, you can change the rate with your hands on the controller like a real instrument. and every time u load the patch, it will do the effect, whether or not you're playing back any midi.

Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
Haha sorry I meant type "have to try this out", luckily there's a simple assign Aftertouch to LFO source function in the synth I'm using. Thanks all the same.
And yeah, easy enough to draw it out but by activating it on the MIDI you could probably come up with some more fitting basslines. Sometimes I get a bit bogged down in the automation that I lose track of any sort of melody.

Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
definitely, thats why i did it in the first place.. needed to play the bassline, not draw it.

anyone think grossbeat in fl would work? i think it would be especially effective for recreating the third vowel sound.

Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
^^ I dont think gross beat automates cutoff. it works all in volume
Re: how to make a 'stuttering' wobble?
^^ yeh but if you shape it right it will give a stutter effect...
