Hello all,
My motu 828mkII is starting to act up lately. When she gets warm, she will eventually start lagging and the audio cuts out and glitches, then the lcd screen mucks up and spells GAIN backwards : "niaG" this is when my computer will reset itself.
Has anyone else experienced an issue like this?!?! Today i opened her up and stuck some heatsinks on the main IC's and installed a little 12v fan on the inside to help circulate the air thru it better. Hopefully it is the heat causing issues and not a component. I dont have a capacitor tester, but none of them are blown or look bulgy....so i dont suspect a capacitor to be causing instability..
I just finished putting her back together, time to hook her up and see if she can run all night

hmm.. i had an mk3, and I NEVER had a single problem.
i sold it on ebay and the guy said it died within a week.. It was still under warranty so motu exchanged it with a new one.. I sold that one on ebay, and that person is saying they are having problems!
i think people need to learn how to use manuals.
I only used mine with my mac, but i have heard that they have been known to crash PCs, IF you don't disconnect it properly.
