Obviously you can't have quality control on a forum as it's all down to the listener as to what they like. However this forum is loosing it's credibility as a good forum about music and is now becoming a place where people into the non 'robotic having a severe stroke sound' are just getting annoyed at seeing this stuff spread all over the place like wildfire. It'll pass within time though, it's not got the quality to remain as a solid genre that stands the test of time, it's a fad for 14-16 year olds that will pass like all fads ( i fucking hope i'm right hahaha  )

In defense of "brostep", I know the reason I personally enjoy it is because it's like death metal combined with old school hip hop; which I enjoy both of immensely. For people saying it isn't musical and just noise... er... Cannibal Corpse, anyone? When death metal first came out in the late 80's people said the SAME THING about that genre. Death metal is incredibly musical and complex, however. Especially once it started getting a bit more progressive and modern when bands such as At The Gates and Opeth came along.

"Brostep" is incredibly musical, original, and fun. I understand that it sucks to watch a genre of music you love change and become popular(I went through this with metal. Fuck Suicide Silence/Bring Me The Horizon/all that wannabe heavy shit), but you guys raging out any time someone posts a Skrillex or Datsik song just fuels the fire :). I like how obnoxious "brostep" is. I'd like to blast it as loud as possible. It (clearly) pisses people off, and that brings me amusement. It's simply some of the heaviest music out there right now.

P.S. One of my favorite bands are The Beatles(early and later). I also enjoy classical music and instrumental jazz. I'm not a "bro". I spent 8 years teaching myself classical guitar as well :D. So if you think you "know more about music" than someone who enjoys "brostep", then I'm sorry, but nope! (I'm 22, by the way.) People like different shit. Let's all hold hands and fuck and just forget about our differences.

TLDR; "Brostep" is the new death metal. People think it's talentless, but it's quite the opposite. Stop being so defensive over music you like. Thank you and good day.

I hate it when people on here offer such unrelated tidbits as "i'm xy years old, by the way", hm, no one cares. "I taught myself classical guitar", hm, no one cares. This isn't the music snob/personal accomplishments forum, its the dubstep forum. Not that I don't think its spectacular that you love the beatles and jazz, and taught yourself guitar. That's three things we have completely in common. But no one asked, and its irrelevant.
You can just say you like brostep, and if people arent cool with that, they can fuck off.

Bring it :) I've grown up around different styles of music all my life. I'd love to have a discussion about our differing views so long as it's intelligent and well-educated. Thank you!

Well, I read a few comments claiming "brostep" is for the 14-16 year old crowd; that's why I felt the need to include my age. It also seems like you people are implying that only "bros" listen to "brostep"; which to me implies that they're just a bunch of drunk frat boys who eat what's spoonfed to them. I'm simply trying to give myself a bit of credibility before any imminent angry comments get flung at me. :) Sorry for the confusion.

spatz be owning you guys :h: Listen guys its music! You don't have to listen to it and also if you don't like that scene don't get into that scene. It really is simple as that :w: I personally like bass heavy distorted music from the the la crunk scene(Mimosa, Bassnectar, Ill Gates) and the purple music scene(marty party, Minnesota, Joker(obviously), Nasty Nasty). I'm new here, but honestly I can't understand why everyone gets their panties up in a bunch over this. I mean hell even Datsik has some good remixes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBKPCJ1wzYo, and if you really are set against brostep try listening to Zedds Dead.

Brostep like Skrillex has it's place in todays music scene. I don't like his music, never will, and tend to share the sentiment of the rest of this forum when they say he blows. I'll let the kids be kids and when they are ready, i'll have Return To Space in hand for their listening pleasure.

DMZ - fuck the rest.

Maybe it's just me, but "everyone" gets pissed off with it, not because of the music, but because the amount of threads that turn into "Why do you hate brostep?" threads? I came to this thread to check out this guys video out of curiosity (not a fan of the music) and AGAIN it turns into a group of bods explaining why brostep is so great, blah blah blah.

No, what im saying is that those songs are shit and cringeworthy and that by putting a video like that on this forum and listing those producers will generate a lot of hate, which is what happened. Funny how people on this forum are constantly trying to find hidden meanings in what others say just to feel good to themselves.

hahahahahahhahahah at this. I'm pretty sure the very first comment on here was a hate comment, NOT a brostep is so great comment. It was this one:

"Im sorry but the song in that video is just so shit its cringeworthy. Youre not going to get anywhere on this forum listing those producers mate, sorry."

What are you talking about? It's close minded people like you who start this fire! Go to a bunch of threads in here that have to do with skrillex or datsik that (amazingly) escaped the wrath of hatred. If you go to those, there are just a bunch of good comments about the actual song/music. Not until one of you start blabbing about how "brostep" is crap is when things get "heated". If yall learn to shut the fuck up for once and let people like what they want, their wont be any fuel for the fire my friend ;-)

Go to a "deep" thread, perosnally, I haven't seen one "BROSTEPPER" (hate that word) try and start shiit. They've never just been like, "deep music is shiit, blah blah blah". Usually the deep heads are the ones blabbin on and on about how "their" music is so great. You guys are just back and forth and it's quite comical. Make up ur fucking minds already :corndance:

Knobhead. Close minded? What, me the guy who said that he doesn't have to explain why he likes a certain type of music, and that there's plenty of people who like the tear-out brostep stuff to have a discussion with?

With regards to your point above. In a "deep thread" as you put it, I've noticed that if somebody isn't feeling a tune, and they say so, it's kind of skipped over, everyone respects it, note everyone is going to like everything.

But if you go to a brostep thread and somebody isn't feeling the tune, there's about 10 other people like you ready with the same churned out wall of text about how it's evolution/progression/whatever and that we should all accept that this is dubstep now blah blah blah. That was my point.
