DJ fresh sound tutorial?
Hi, im fairl new to dubstep production and have been using reason 4. i know all the basics and also some of the more advanced stuff. However, i am unsure how to produce the sort of growling sound in DJ Fresh's song 'the gatekeeper' at around 0:31 - 0:50? can anyone help me out?

you don't know all the basics then 
Sounds like a notch filter cutoff moving slightly from higher frequency to a tad lower, low-passed - and there's a shitload of distortion.

thanks for the reply, but i meant the sort of growling 8-bit like sound that ascends and growl :L its hard to explain, basically its the other part to what your explaining

just find some dirty dnb bass lines in a track by them selves sample add efx' and you too will be FFFRRRREEEESSSSHHHHH
