lol, I got a good deal on amazon, it was $275. But I have pretty much figured out what all the function of it do and I def want to switch some of the nobs to perform different functions (better uses). Im looking into the massive plugin, im going to pirate it before I pay for it and see how it is :) (are we allowed to talk about that here??? Half of the kids here can't possibly have the full version of reason 5...right? lol) .

Have any big artists done tutorials? (just wondering) . I would ask 501 for some pointers but he uses cubase :(

Read the manuals. Their there for a reason, and some one had to type it all up for you, so might as well do him the pleasure of reading the persons work! :)

Sorry, might of been a bad quote.

Really just trying to amplify the importance of reading the guides. Keep doing what you're doing, just make sure you're including the manual.

I have been reading the manual, and Tom IS the boss, I saw his automatic glitcher tutorial, crazy stuff to know for the future.

i have reason 5, and as sweet as it is..i still prefer ableton :)

another great producer/artist that has some great tutorial vids on utube is Dj Vespers....search for his channel. As far as learning your equipment is concerned, just keep a full open mind, and ask as many questions as you can to google and find your answers. I never read ANY manuals, i love figuring stuff out for myself...and i think ive done a pretty good job so far :) but everyones learning curve is different. find out what works for you, NEVER give up and its okay to feel frustrated every so often, i know i do when i get intense in the studio. almost like road rage lol.

i never get why there is some sort of honour/being proud of not reading a manual.

have you really figured it out for yourself if you're watching youtube videos and googling for answers?

funny, i used to have a similar attitude regarding learning..

like i used to dance by myself, play guitar by myself, make beats by myself... and refuse to get help... and its one of the main reasons why it took me so long to get reliably good and at something..

its a very complex mental disposition embedded in narcissism imo. well at least for my part it was. being able to be good by urself, and avoiding criticism or an actual NEED to improve. its like i had a reason to not know.

not talkin about tripwave, just a lot of people i know including old me.

So, anyone here using the APC40? I'm new to it too. Tried out some famous templates but decided I wanna make one that suits me better and saves CPU consumption.

Hope to get some ideas from DSF. Share some mapping/rack setups/dummy clip tricks/ etc etc!!
