New Excision mix is sickkkkk. Thoughts on Datsik's track.

Post by SpatZ » Sun May 29, 2011 11:20 pm

I'm loving it. Very similar sound throughout, yet it holds my interest without becoming too monotonous. I'm REALLY digging the direction Datsik seems to be headed in. That two minute track he has on there is fuckin' brutal. That jackhammer drop is obscene. How can that be topped as far as sub bass goes? I'm looking forward to seeing.

Not sure if serious. BUT I really like that crew and honestly I'm not feelin' the new Datsik track.

I'm serious. Excision's first track on that mix is badass as well. Has a very metal vibe to it.

"If your tune sounds like a bunch of powertools at a home depot. That's not bass, that's not sub... therefore it's not Dubstep!"

All very interesting song choices and all quite sub-filled, but that Datsik song just has that... high-speed, grinding drill sub that just shakes the world around it. I don't want this to turn into an old school dubstep vs "brostep" thread, but come on. These subs are just fuckin' crazy during the drop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwxNW9aU ... ture=share

I still think it edges the other tracks posted out in terms of pure obnoxiousness and intensity. Might not be as MUSICAL as the videos linked, but it gives them a run for their money sub-wise for sure.

i feel like there is a big difference between loud bass and a big sub-bass line that is exemplified here... i bet on a big system woman would blow get hype away. and yes you are right, in terms of pure obnoxiousness neither of the other tracks comes close to that datsik production, obnoxious just isnt really my style as i feel like its 'overthetopness' detracts/distracts from the bass element present in the track if that makes any sense- the emphasis is in the wrong place.

Oh geez, I don't know! Wait... I found this:

But it says it was released in 2005? This Loefah must be some kind of genius that heard the Datsik's track, went back in time to top his sub bass and now is just waiting for the money to come rolling in...

You're confusing sub bass with the synths that ride over it dude.

Are you sure? I'm talking about the super-low drill subs in the drop. Before the jackhammer comes in; and during it as well. Sounds like subs to me. I don't understand :(

Nice dude, that's sick! They're both very close in my opinion, though. Different sort of vibes. Definitely the closest I've heard, however. Favorited on youtube! Thanks for the insight.
