£40 to sound generic sounds like a rip off to me. There's heaps of information on synthesis at the top of this board, learn it and make your own original patches that will blow those presets out of the water. The experience you'll gain learning how to build killer patches will be worth a lot more than £40 trust me.
Also just because you have a patch it doesn't mean you'll make absolute bangers, there's way more to it than that, if Skrillex came on here and posted the elements for his bass and his drums practically everyone using it would make absolute crap.

it is good to start with presets but don't buy these. If you are looking into how a certain patch is made just go into massive and open up the "brutal electro" patch and analyze that and it won't cost you a penny. I have heard some producers tracks that have released some EP's and I have noticed the ASL soundlab basses in them, I just think that if people get that it will just be like the Modern Talking pandemic with that sound being in almost everyones songs. To find out what will be your sound is by experimenting. datsik has his sound because he approached his synth a certain way and achieved it, it may have taken him a while to get his sounds but that is what he ended up with same with other producers. its just what you know and how you approach sound design also that gets you your sound I would say. no one watches a bassline tutorial on youtube and uses that exact sound, your supposed to see how that sound is constructed and how that guy came up with that sound and see what techniques he may have used and use those to get another sound or perhaps take that knowledge and bring it into another synth. sorry this is a bit long and i don't know if I am making much sense here I may be getting a bit off topic I am done.
