Really hope you guys aren't referring to me. :Q:
Also, think about it if this thread is locked and/or deleted, every single post in the production forum will be a spam of tracks asking for opinions/advice. Not a good idea. Although, I think a decent solution would be a sub forum that has the rules stickied at the top because even though it can been seen as plain ignorant when people post without feedback, I can see how it could happen if they see this thread and just click into the last page with no idea there was in fact rules on the first page. Anyone think a WIP/Feedback forum would useful in regards to organisation and actually getting what we want out of people that are new here?

Oh an another thing, there should be a rule that your feedback must contain at least one instance of 'constructive' criticism rather than just saying "I really liked it, drums are nice". Like something that is actually helpful like "Add a bit more reverb to your snare" or "Try sidechaining a little bit to bring your kick out in the mix". I dunno, i just feel like when i see an @Bevoh i get all excited to hear some good feedback and am really let down when i only hear "I like your bassline, what did you use?". Not that i dont enjoy a complement, but i come here to get some good advice from people who are more experienced than me so i can actually learn something and i think most people are the same and taking your time to provide 3 people with feedback before i post my track doesnt seem like too much to ask and i dont think it is for these new people, i think they simply dont SEE the rules in most cases. I may be wrong but yeah just my 2 cents. While im having a little rant, id like to say thanks to the people that have given me feedback in this thread, its really helped me out even though i still suck, i can see i am getting somewhere. Very very very slowly, but surely.

@oprs,

The rules are pretty simple for this thread. The biggest being don't post a full tune, only unfinished and WIPs. And the other people I've seen on here posting have been giving feedback and/or compliments to tracks that have been posted. I don't see what the deal is.

@BevOh,

I like the feel of the track you posted earlier. Idk about the tempo changes though haha. Either way, the wobble is pretty solid. I think maybe the res should be a little lower in parts of the bassline though. Just my opinion. Otherwise, a great sound.

@oprs You werent referring to me though were you? Only asking because i was the last to post before you and the other guy said something. I know i definitely don't post to get 'props' because i know im not good and am still learning, hence the reason im posting in this forum and i always give feedback before i post.

Just wanted to make sure. Didn't wanna be in anyones bad books around here because people such as yourself have given me great feedback as of late. Do you think the sub forum that I mentioned above could be a half decent solution?

@oprs,

Sorry, I skipped the last 10 pages or so and didn't notice those posts.

@BevOh,

It's your sound man. If it doesn't sound good to you with the res lowered, then leave it up. It should be about what you like in the first place. Either way, I think the track is pretty great.

100% aree, need ADVICES, people say they like stuff, cause it does not require any effort, I would much prefer if we all share experience, isnt it the main reason of that thread ?

@ MexicanKangeroo - Track is amazing i cant fault it at all, only the levels really, im hearing alot of hi's but cant hear much bass, other than that amazing for one days work!

@ Envision - Good concept, the bass is gritty but i would recommend to duplicate it but take all the hi's out of the second one and turn up all low frequencies so that they work together to make a much thicker sound. Also with the drums, id layer up the snare, the hi sound to it is good but you should add some more snares with a mid range to it with some reverb to make the tune roll more fluetly. Same with the kick drum, layer it up!

@ HelloSatan - Tune is very nice and melodic, i wudnt change much only add in some fx like coin or water drops for random examples, and maybe another pad for more atmosphere

I'm not so good at giving feedback but here we go haha;

@ JLproductions: Digging the intro, phat kicks and chill. Nice percussions you got going as well. Drop got me feeling like if I'm underwater skanking with squids haha keep it up.
@ MexicanKangaroo: Sounds like you got a big tune in your hands, smooth intro. Pretty insane bass you got going, just do some work on the sub. Beat hits nicely as well.
@ orca: Sounding big so far man. loving the jumpish grime feel haha.

Well here's my Drumstep/Drum & Bass tune. I threw 8 hours down on this a couple of days ago lol. Would appreciate feedback. Cheers

@Loud Flavor tune is really nice mate, actually very hard to fault. 2nd bassline has too much of the vocal "oh" drop it out at some point maybe then bring it back in? and im not to sure if its my shitty headphones but it seems like the kick gets lost at some points, sidechain a lil bit/more.

@Loud Flavor

The track is ace from a songwriter standpoint, I'm really feeling the track! It sounds like you cut too much high-end off that main bass sound though. That's great for double-time d'n'b with heavy breaks, but really keeps the bass in the background. If you are worried about muddying up the mix what I would do is take that same patch, pitch it up by an octave, and layer it over the current bassline. It'd probably be a good idea to cut it somewhere below 200 hz. Even if you don't layer the entire track; i feel just doing it at certain points, such as the first or last bar of a phrase, to accent the downbeats could take the track from being kinda chill to banging.

@ JLproductions - Like the idea of the tune,But i needs i bigger drop i think,and i variety of the wobble,sounds monotonic and i tired lsitening to it,nice ideja though!

@Loud Flavour - Diggin this.The tune is moving forward,its been itneresting to lsiten to it.Only thing i didnt like is that the basses sounding too generic,its because of the distortion i think.And other elements too,To me its sounds like u have a distortion on the master or smth ?

Heres my last tune,work in progress,check

Didn't spot this thread. Put my just started track into the Dubs section :dunce:

Here is a tune I just started this afternoon. What do you think? Is it worth trying to finish? Drops just after 50 seconds

@donpablo - now thats some shit i would expect to hear in a shambalha set by excision, really interesting mash up of basses vs synths.
@orca those drops are sooooooooo filthy, but im just stunned with one thing, how the f*** did you make those bassses ?!?!?!?

heres the wip i would enjoy getting feedback on, seems everytime i get feedback for dsf i end up with a wicked track :D
