Have you ever ditched your friends to go to a night?

Post by MasterA » Sat Jun 04, 2011 9:40 pm

for whatever reason they don't want to go, you've just gone "fuck it" and went anyway.

I mugged off my mate's 19th to go and see Ramadanman last year.

I do that all the time. When nobody's willing to go I go on my own, meet loads of funny people. tbh I think these are the best nights I go to

I've had the intention of going out alone a few times but at least one person has always ended up coming with me.

dubstep nights are probably the only nights you can enjoy on your own. You will most likely meet few other heads as every1 there is pretty much like minded and the vibes are usually friendly too

Tbh I often prefer going to dances by myself! I find other people are just a distraction from the music! :P

Missed DMZ 4th and 5th birthday because of prior engagements with friends - longed them off this year. Also went to the Youngsta Rinse CD launch do on my ones. :corndance:

yeah same. i always try and persuade people to go, nobody does and i just say im gonna go by myself. usually about an hour or so before someone's just like 'fuck it i might as well come'. dont know if i could actually go by myself though... that takes some serious knackers imo!

I flake out on my friends quite a lot to go dancing. I also go alone all the time. Sometimes I meet up with "friends" there. I don't intend on meeting new people. I'm mostly in my bubble and don't feel like being disturbed.

99% of the time it's just me and one mate that head along to dubstep nights. So far she's never let me down... if it was something I really wanted to see i.e. DMZ/Pearson Sound/Jack Sparrow etc. I would hope I'd get the balls to go along lol, actually leaving the house alone would be weird though
Yeah mate dubstep's cool. Kinda prefer tech house these days. Gnome sayin'

I've already done this loads...my mates are NOWHERE NEAR into Dubstep as much as I am! They say they are...but after 1 hour they're bored, and looking around the club to find a comfy seat!

Exactly.

I try and get mates to come along sometimes. If I reckon they'll be into the music and actually wanna stay until the headliners on. But, for example, when Pinch came down, I didn't even ask them. Just go it solo. It's good fun and all. Once the music kicks off and I don't have to stand around awkwardly gripping a beer, and can start awkwardling firing off gunfingers then it's all good 8)

I do tend to drag the girlfriend along sometimes, though. I'm gonna drag her to DMZ :6:
I hope she won't mind being with me dancing like a prat. She'll just have to get involved, won't she

Not necessarily ditched friends, but on the topic of going to an event on my own: went to see a guy called Daedelus at the Hare and Hounds a few weeks ago. Ended up speaking to him for 10 mins. Really good night.
