Whats your favorite part about producing
For me its the writing of basslines and then the melodies over basslines. i usually get the most excited when i find a melody and bassline that just flow and work together so well it gives me goosebumps. no formal training in any type of musical instrument so maybe thats why it seems so exciting when i find something that works.
Only downside is thats all i want to do and the quality of my production suffers because i just wanna jump right into that. though i know i should be reading up and learning shit to polish up on my production quality and learning new techniques as i hardly know any to begin with..
So what specifically do you enjoy most about music production?
inb4 wub locks thread cause theres another one out there slightly similar to it

For me it would be spending hours on Massive making my own presets.

Sound design work, particularly creating ambience/sound beds and building up my stock library.

I love designing and programming drums. I feel like I've recently kind of got it all together with compressors, transient shapers, eq and limiting. I'm just starting to get to the point where I have the kind of control over a drum sound's envelope and timbre that I want. I don't win them all, but it is turning into a fair fight.

i love the fact that its a challenge. possibly the most challenging thing i've ever done in my life! i also love it when i learn something new and can hear my more recent tracks sounding better than my old stuff.

disregard my previous post, but my favorite part is the mixdown, i dont know why people dislike mixing, its the funnest part! i like the challenge of making sure everything sounds good, crisp, and loud, and still be able to hear every element i put in the song

Re: Whats your favorite part about producing
Tough question, I think my favorite part is when I come back to a finished tune like a month later and I still like it (although this doesn't happen anywhere near as much as I'd like).
Re: Whats your favorite part about producing
sound design work. and working on drum loops. I don't even make full tracks anymore. just work on creating sounds and loops until something hits me. apart from that I just love experimenting with the software I use.

Uploading a finished track to Soundcloud... the feeling of having something finished is always good for me.

And also creating sounds in Massive and what not for hours and realizing when the sound is done. I also love making drums

Having time to myself and I love the tedious work involved then watching it all come together.
