i've got a white macbook 2.26ghz with only 2gb ram that i bought last april and its been running logic without any problems
i'd just spend the money on other stuff

@people talkin about pc's- no one could go from a mac back to a pc... STRESS levels would be through the roof.

bevoh is that you typing or has your pc been taken over by one of those virus'?

I've got a macbook pro from early 2008 with lower specs than yours and I run Logic 9, Traktor Scratch, and Reason with absolutely no problems. In fact, I've had no problems whatsoever with my notebook-- no freezing or crashing. FWIW maxing out your ram will be a noticeable upgrade, buying a completely new macbook pro seems like a waste of money to me especially when you're just running Reason/Record. If I had a couple grand to blow I'd get a moog synthesizer:)

you know why? cos it is. you can get so much more performance from a windows or linux machine for half the price...

and idk i just figured id try and sell this macbook while i can still get good money for it, no?

plus this 13" screen is killing me. but it does run reason pretty well i guess...
Personally i would sell the macbook and build a production pc with a nice big monitor or two. would have a faster pc for producing and much more screen space. and would still be cheaper than a macbook
That is all true but then what's the point as your going to have to run a sub standard OS on it. :corndance: Unless you build a hackintosh.

this says all the latest rumors and updates for each apple item. based on that, they tell you whether its a good time to buy, or hold out for a few months.

LIES.

I went windows 7 > Macbook Pro

now im back to Windows XP.

I do miss the Snow Leopard operating system though, have you heard about Lion OS is apparently only available through the app store though?
I believe this is a fail on Apple's behalf, what if you need a boot disk?!

Had no choice, paying rent, travel fares to work, outlook, travels fares to outlook, living, and weekend sessions, leaves me with not a great amount!
just cant afford to shell out a grand and abit on a new mac, not for a couple of months anyhow.
and not till i deffinatly know that they'll be boot disc for Lion!

yeah iv heard of it. im not going to upgrade just yet. ill wait till they upgrade it and work out any possible bugs. plus im waiting to hear how it performs. if it takes more cpu with all the flashy stuff ill just stick with snow leopard which works great...

and as far as booting im thinking you will have to reinstall with snow leopard and then download lion again with your code.

buy the new macbook pro so you can look better than everyone else, and talk shit how you have sandy bridge, and 10gb/transfer speeds and they only have shitty usb 2.0.... cmon everyone knows once a mac elitist always a mac eletist.

but for real just keep what you have... I used a p.o.s. dell for YEARS and it worked fine, you need to benefit the gains from the losses and really think about it. imo your macbook should be good enough. but hey it's your money, if you feel that you must absolutely have it then go for it. but don't think it's gona change anything :/

its not a must have. but im thinking from a money perspective too, that it may be best to sell my macbook while its still up to date to get the most money for it, yanno?

cuz if i keep it another 2 years or so ill probly end up just having to keep it..
