When to buy a new macbook?

If your comp is fine buy some other hardware, I think you'll be happier with, well, you have a mpk, you have monitors, and your in reason so vsts aren't used to you, hell go buy a new car or something

yeah thats what im sayin. i have most of the hardware that i need. i really dont want to buy anymore unless my productions justify it. which probably wont be for a long while. a computer though is useful to me in more ways than just production. i still do need a few things for my studio though, such as record 1.5, a subwoofer, and a 24" monitor.

and yeah i plan on buying a car but i still have about 1 year and 2 months until i get my license back

to make a long story short, there is a kid on my street who had an amazing macbook... 8gb ram etc... when the new one (i7mbp) came out, he just had to have it. So guess what, his mom bought it for him. Has that reflected on his productions at all? Nope.

well my mommy aint buyin me one. it would be me buying it. and i dont expect it to reflect on my productions. i expect it to make them a bit more enjoyable though with a larger screen and more computing power...

and second of all, I was just pointing out why buy a brand new macbook pro when you already have a 2009?! fuck? (I'm sorry maybe I'm the only one who is affected by the current economic crisis, but it just seems silly to me.)

So i would wait until the back to school deal to buy your next macbook, that way you can get a free ipod touch (which could qualify and be used as audio produciton hardware if you get the right app). I bought my 2010 macbook pro unibody jan 2010 and missed out on the free ipod touch.. not a big deal but it would have been nice to get a free ipod since my old school ipod died finally.

The other piece of advice i have for you, or anyone who may be purchasing a mac, would be to buy refurbished, i repeat BUY REFURBISHED MAC's from the apple store. Why? because in a factory setting only 1 out of every so many (1000 maybe?) macs get quality control tested... where as a refurbished mac has been fixed and quality controlled by a technician EVERY single TIME and you will have almost no chance that the device will fail again. Plus apple knocks off a couple hundred dollars usually for you buying the refurb over a brand new one and you can buy applecare and the waranty's are identical to a brand new device. I cant beleive i didnt buy refurbished the first time but now i know the secret.

thanks for reminding me that. ill def look into. even though i am pretty anal about my things so i usually like to buy new. do you know when the new macbook pros come out?
