i don't understand why wafer thin ham exists. given the choice between lots of ham and a measly thin bit of ham who in their right mind would choose the wafer thin option? maybe it's only there for those not sound of mind

I think it's all in putting lots and lots and lots of folds of measly thin bits of ham. So you get folded-ham-layer-biting goodness.

Because it doesn't actually contain much ham and so is pretty cheap, budget ham! I agree though, it doesn't even taste of ham, maybe it's to trick your brain into believing you're eating ham because it's pink and ham-textured, and so you can pretend you're eating a delicious ham sandwich when really it's just bread and a pink, watery, slippery, inferior, ham-textured substance.

Also, smoked ham or no ham.
