As far as i can see, been through all the pages (sooooo many tunes i haven't listened to for ages, currently living in China getting access to youtube bit of a pain in the arse) neither of these have been posted and definitely deserve to be.

The first song on the first mix i listened to Skream's Rinse after a friend gave it to me, and what a way to start it off

And THIS

Top class thread also.

Cheers for the advice, i just recently got one that allows me to watch youtube videos. Had one all along but up until recently it just couldn't cope with youtube would say the video was fully buffered but only play 5 seconds and break.

I would say its got something to do with the useless internet i have (which i can do nothing about).

Should have probably sought advice earlier.

You need to prepare the ground for understanding those tunes first of all!

So here's my own advice to anyone discovering dubstep:

a) Move your body to the music - you can't appreciate the music until you engage with it wholly, and that means bodily. Your body is more important to your understanding than most people realise - dancing is essential to understanding music! Let it become you.

b) Go to a reputable event and listen to it amidst people who love it.

c) Have a go at making the music yourself. Listen closely to production techniques, and get familiar with the structure of the tunes.

d) Pay attention to the culture and the history, where the music is coming from and where we are now - it can be difficult to see the forest for the trees sometimes but remember the historicity of music - this came from a time and a place!

Can I just say (being reasonably new to dubstep) that i find your posts both amuzing and insulting but most of all they mostly just sound like what happened when other musical genre's hit the big time. Think indie to brit pop or hardecore to happy hardcore n trance. It's shit to see it lose what drew you to it in the first place but THE CHANGE IS GONNA HAPPEN!!!

Dubstep is getting recognition. But the only exposure outwith a few cities is coming through TV shows n adverts and the odd slightly more plays on big radio stations. Thats the stuff that the new commercialised dubstep generation is getting access to. So what you need to do is instead of acting like you own it and no-one else deserves it, share your knowledge, tell interested people like my lovely self who/what/where so that we dont get left with the watered down dregs. Cos when it does break through (I mean throughout the UK, cos it really hasn't yet) your opinion and knowledge can make the good stuff get the recognition instead of the weak commercial stuff claiming the genre.

I have only been getting into Dubstep for about a year maybe two and i still feel like i haven't scratched the surface. There seems to be 1 club in Glasgow (where i live) that plays it, and even that's on a school night and i'm frustrated cos i dont know where to start delving deeper.

So lets see you put your money where your mouth is.

@ Theresa: Erm. I swear that post was basically telling me to stop making threads like this, and instead make threads exactly like this...ehm. Safe.

@ everyone: Bugger it. More tunes.

And a last one that rather than being just about dubstep...isnt. But everyone needs to hear this track lol
