there is no way it should be considered a method of population control!

it is a method of population control... you could look at lots of things as a method of population control, like disease. im not saying it should be used as a primary method of it but its IS a form of it. and denying it to people who wish to have it only increases population.

I'd hazard the guess if there was no abortion the difference in birth rate would be negligible. Most kids are born in the third world where infant morality is high, and also the assumption that abortion is at such a level it would dramatically effect population levels if it were banned. For that to happen there would have to be abortions on an industrial scale, hundreds of millions of women every month, year upon year.... nah can't see that happening.

But to say abortion at it's current rate dramatically effects population levels, to such an extent, that it could ease global overpopulation is a total fantasy.

Besides which it's a straw argument logistically. And this argument is a shit one.
