missing afterhour culture in uk

Post by phrex » Fri Jun 17, 2011 3:27 pm

why aren't tehre any after hours in uk.. been now around 8 times in uk and never really heard of an afterhour going on. nights usually finsih really early and people go back home (and go on at home)... that is kinda strange... why not bundle the energy and go on in daytime..?

don't have to compare to berlin...
even in little switzerland after bigger raves there is a rather small familiar after hour going on for hours and hours. in summer it's outside usually in winter it's in clubs or squats...

Coz we drink HARD over here so we need to go home to pass out/vomit and pass out/cook something to eat, eat, passout/put something on to cook, pass out, burn house down.

It's how we do, son!

Loads of after hours events in London. Something like Jaded @ Cable that starts 5am Sunday morning and runs through until afternoon?

Berlin's crazy for that kind of things, huge queues at 6am

I went to a party that was 7pm-11am in Belgium once, haven't seen anything like that here since

Yeah, just don't stay with me next time Phrex. Ideally, I like to be in bed before the sun comes up. On some proper vampire flex!

Could do with some unofficial Dubstep flavoured after party though, like for when DMZ kicks out at 6am, someone round Brixton way to go to, could call it 'Meditate'.

"You going home after DMZ?"
"No, we're all going to Mediate"

there's just something magical about the early mornigng when the sun comes up... + people will deeply feel the music you select for this time... (it really affects your djing - i remember playing once hyetal - pixel rainbow sequence when the sun came up... magic!)

@wub dubstep isn't afterhour music imho... it's too physical and i feel very 'drained' after a dubstep rave... i then usually prefer lighter music... especially house music. also dubstep needs a dark room - and that's not the point of an dayLIGHT party ;-)

Just because the sun is up, doesn't mean the club has windows.

Yeah, think there is some sort of confusion here. You mean after party or crack on?
