How do I tell someone they fucked up my track?

Post by weedcali » Sat Jun 18, 2011 6:26 am

So this guy wanted to collab with me so i sent him a beat and i got it back today and i think he ruined it. i mean seriously im disappointed.

sooooo..... how do I tell him (politely) that hes done a terrible job and I would not like to collab with him?

lol if this is kinda random...

Tell him I don't like what you did, and I don't want to work with you any more :) The truth shale set you free.

But maybe you don't like what he did because it's your beat, and you can't handle people messing with it?

Either way, they both have their strengths. Turn your drums up, and everything else down :)

My drums are plenty loud. the synths could probably come down a bit.

i did post what he did to my track.

the first soundcloud player is the whole project i sent him. which is basically just that loop playing a few times.

the second player is just exported from what he sent me.

Don't tell him he fucked up persay. Just explain to him the feel of the track you were aiming for, and the constructive criticism you have on the piece that he has worked on.

If you were having a hard time telling your collab partner, making a public thread on DSF moaning about how it sucked... great way to do it, I like your style, let em down subtley and politely.

i mean ive never done a collab, well i did some joke tunes at college haha, but like isnt the whole point of doing a collab because you like the other persons music, and you want to make a tune with them so that it brings theirs and your music together as one? if you want the tune to be how you want it, then just do it yourself?

Well I hope said person doesn't know this Thread exists, that would be such a blow to their confidence and make them rage about how you couldn't just face up to them in person mate.

Just tell them and get it over with.
