PRR: This is so sick man, I cant think of any thing to say haha.
BudSpencerton: Loving the sub in this one mate

Okay, i haven't really been working on anything for awhile but here is a wip. Not sure what it needs

Sifty - intro is hot ; reminds me of zomby's tunes ;bass is good ;; all i can suggest is expirmenting w. the melody that yu have in the drop; other than that ; nice work.

blinkesko - cool melody ; its actually a really good tune, i love the glitchy parts ; mixing could use some work tho , thats about it.

jlennonaudio - haha those are my kinda kicks ;) , drop is awesome, this is like some awesome fucked up [in a good way] shit , i digs.

my wip ; as far as i kno i need bass variation and drum variation.. i started this about 5 hours ago

@blakedipp - Interesting track.. But the kick drum is almost non existent, beef it up! Also that "yoi" vocal bass sound seems abit lacking, everything else sat well though!

@Sifty - Love that intro man.. This track has alot of potential, you just need to work on the melody after the drop, throw some glitchy effects in their or something to keep the listener on their toes

@therebel730 - I really hate Drake(if it is him..W/E IT SOUNDS LIKE HIM), not gonna lie.. But this little sample works nice, the bass is too overpowering though and doesn't move enough, I think you need abit of variety in your wobbles. I feel like it's lacking in the higher frequency range as well, definitely has potential though :D

Alright now you guys can go ahead and tear apart my track xD.. It's a remix of 1901 by Phoenix, been messin around with a little microphone I had and just started shaking my car keys and got some cool little sounds :P Tell me what you think it needs!

wouldn't mind knowing what DSF thinks of these new tracks I've been working on. fast (146-148bpm), heavily techno-influenced but hopefully a bit more than just a trend grab. first one of them's a sort of atonal electro/rnb beat, the other's very minimal and somewhat Surgeon-esque (hence the title). they'll be part of an EP I'll be self-releasing later this summer.

was in the process of checking out other people's tracks - figured I might as well post mine while I was doing that. both of my tracks are unfinished in case there was any doubt as to that.

rebel:

- intro needs more variation/drama
- vocal pitching is done well enough but really cliché at this point - try putting some more intense effects on it. try multitracking & putting it through a phaser, vocode it to the bass in the chorus etc, put some beat repeat/delay on it etc.
- like the noisy/industrial aspect of the snare but it needs a. a bit more low end/punch (try EQing it better & compressing it quite heavily w/ a ~25ms attack) & b. more reverb - sounds too dry/short right now.
- personally think that bass sound is played out but if that's what you want: a. add more sub; b. sounds a bit thin - you could add some chorus or another midrange osc. I don't think lack of variation is the problem per se - just make it a punchier & weirder synth w/ a slightly more interesting pattern
- drums: add a bunch more drums, hihats etc. if you've got a good pattern you can repeat it a lot so, as with the bass, lack of variation isn't the problem per se

bud:
- the lead needs to be bassier
- also maybe try adding some trancegate at points to make it more interesting - check out some Kingdom tracks if you want an idea of what I mean.
- bit sick of the whole joker-esque style but other than the points i've just made it's alright from a technical point of view. could do w/ sounding fuller
- try, rather than adding more elements, making the ones in it more prominent, weirder and noisier. reverb, compressor & distortion are what you should have a look at for this.

blinkesko:

- tune needs more sub - you might want to compress the sub more because it sounds like it's fading in and out which undermines the track's impact & sense of movement.
- quite like the fact that the drums are more dynamic than they tend to be in these sorts of tunes but they could do w/ being slightly more coherent - hihats sound a bit detached from the rest, for example. might also be worth adding some noisier-sounding drums to make the whole thing sound a bit darker/more interesting - try chopping snares out of breaks, for example.
- like the others, it's technically pretty good but just not very original. would be worth, I think, keeping what you've got so far & adding some more unusual elements - atonal synths, different drums, etc. if you want to make more futuristic-sounding presets I recommend getting Absynth if you don't have it already - the ringmod & freq shift effects it has are great for that sort of thing (most of the synths on the 2 tracks I posted are made in part using them).

w/ respect to the whole weirder/more industrial recommendations I've been making - I've found a lot of techno really inspirational in this regard. for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CqKn4ic-HE. great atmosphere, real sense of movement, heavy & noisy w/o being childishly aggressive or devoid of funk. also, in my personal experience it's very easy to get carried away w/ adding too many different elements to tracks - the British Murder Boys/Surgeon approach helps you avoid this by making your track noisier w/o being cluttered.

while Boddika & a lot of others are doing the whole electro influence thing at the moment, I'm not aware of many producers at the moment who are explicitly influenced by the heavier/more industrial side of the genre right now - and that influence is one of the things that made people like Vex'd so good.

Bud Spence: Keep working on that ish mate. Sounds like it could be massive if you take your time with it. Kit is already pretty nice. I'd bring those tom/bongo hits down a bit though.

@BudSpencertron Your right, mixdown isnt great but it's a WIP so it doesnt have to be. Really nice vibe on that track tho. its kinda heavy but chilled at the same time. The little breakdown is fucking sick. I really think all these needs is a good mixing tbh.

@influx very nice,, chilled as fuck. i think some mixing needs to be done tho as well. Sounds like shit gets a bit lost and and muddy at times. Car keys sample is very interesting tho, sounds nice. Where did you pull acapella from btw?

@therebel730 love that vocal sample. i think it should drop into a second verse with a faster wobble and a bit more variation. i think the snare is a bit loud for something with not much low end. id say cut a bit of the top and boost some lows on it add a tiny bit of reverb n see how it sounds :)

something i just pumped out in the last hour or two, no fx on drums and havnt really touched on mixing but just wanted to get some feedback on what i have already.

@Bev-Oh- Sick tune man, nice sounds and samples. Of course with what you said, beef up the drums. Keep up the good work!

@Alex Carlil- Comment other people's tracks. Its just polite.

@Monabury-The sound is alright but it gets repetitive pretty quickly. Add some effects in there to keep it interesting.

Here is mine. I changed up the sounds after the drop as I felt it didn't fit with the rest of the song so just the beginning is what I'm focused on.

@crow steppa love the compressing on the drums did you eq the snare to make it more punshier? i would take the midrange bass to the front and let it drop with it and take the sub part to the second drop but beside that huge wip

@bevoh thanks for the feedback i have to adopt the view of rando rando really nice massive fx work, nice intro nothing bad to say waiting for the finished tune

@charleswpeck wrote you on soundcloud just love it :W:

@BudSpencertron Idk if it's because its not mixed yet, but I feel like the kick and the snare should be way punchier. Also there are a number of empty spaces which I think are cool, but I feel like some high end percussion, more than just 2 light hats, , should fill those to keep the drive going. I also was just thinking if you could create more rhythmic movement with the sub it might make the tune drive better, or make it more interesting. I really like the midrange, it changes around and is big.

@Crow Steppa, i really like that intro, but the post drop midrange sounds so different. Maybe you could have one morph to the other. It just feels like two different songs. I like the intro better tbh then after the drop. The intro feels too long. I couldn't decide whether it was an intro or a non resolved chord progression until the drop came. The guitary midrange sound in the intro is sweet though.

@BevOh
I really like the midrange you got going. Not necessarily super original sounding, but quality nonetheless. I like the call response you got with the midrange as well, I think it's worth continuing. At first the vocal sample stuf sounded weird and out of place, but as it went on it made more sense and was amusing.

Kept going with this one. I think I want to add vocals to the slower parts. We'll see, let me know what you think is missing or needs to be changed.
