Turntable.fm - The Future of the DJ Social Network?

It's in beta, but once you can mix in and out of each others tracks it will be no joke. We'll see what happens when NI gets their hands on this.

Right now it's in it's infancy stage. Basically a bunch of people online in a virtual DJ room. There are up to 5 DJs in each "room." There are two buttons you can press whenever someone is playing a song, "Awesome" and "lame." Every time someone hits 'awesome' you get points, after too many lames during the same song, the song will skip to the next DJ.

I say that it is the future because I think that eventually they will allow the other DJs to mix out of the song you're playing, essentially creating a virtual, community oriented rave where multiple people can join together on the decks.

Imo, it's a great idea and I hope it takes off and goes places.

This actually sounds like an awesome idea... I hope the trolls stay away from it though :P
EDIT: Just checked out the site... great idea for the sign-up process! I now fully believe this will be a sweet site.

Sounds stupid. Music is subjective, there won't be any good in voting.

I've been on there a few times in some of the dubstep room and the music played in there makes me mad. All they play is Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, and 16bit type dubstep.

I was in there playing some classics like Midnight Request Line, Spongebob, Snes Dub and other pure classics. I then played some more recent stuff like Mensah and Gemmy, but they all got voted down and everyone in chat was saying it sucked and sounded like fruity loops presets. Then they all started saying "we want something dirty" or "melt my face."

Kids these days have no respect.

I started tearing up about days gone by.

I think you were just in the wrong rooms with the wrong people..I was there in a few rooms where we played a lot of awesome stuff pinch,burial,joker,cluekid,ital-tek etc and where we were discussing music and dubstep in a nice conversation. But I also know what you mean by the stupid kids and there brostep, you just have to look down the list on the rooms with less people or write Future bass,or just bass instead of dubstep
