It's a well known rumour. Deadmau5 is thought to get a "helping hand" by professional producers and mixing engineers and considering Skrillex is signed to his label and their production sounds *exactly* the same I'd say it was a safe bet that it's the same guy making the brunt of both their tracks behind the scenes.RandoRando wrote:now thats just straight hatinparavrais wrote: 2: Skrillex probably doesn't even do most of his own production.
wasnt spor signed by deadmau5 and since skrillex has been doing things he hasnt released anything? rumors, rumors...paravrais wrote:It's a well known rumour. honestly i didn't believe it at all but now i listen to tons of feed me tracks and it's like he just copypasted a few of his tracks together, let sonny moore sing and play a few melodies for him to work with and bam! there you go.paravrais wrote:I didn't know feed me was signed to mau5trap. Very interesting indeed.
the plot thickens...
nah theres a difference between doing the same by the numbers song structures, the same melodic progressions, same riffs, same synth styles et cetera like everyone else in the genremonkfish wrote:Haha, you guys are only just realizing that a majority of Electro/Progressive House tracks sound the same?
Yeah, but they're on the same label, it's only natural you would hear similarities in their work. They collaborate a lot and spend a lot of producing time with each other.hasezwei wrote:nah theres a difference between doing the same by the numbers song structures, the same melodic progressions, same riffs, same synth styles et cetera like everyone else in the genremonkfish wrote:Haha, you guys are only just realizing that a majority of Electro/Progressive House tracks sound the same?
and applying the EXACT same fx-chains and sounds that no one else uses in the genre, the only thing that makes 'em unique.
Obviously OP and everyone who posted after.sixth sense wrote:who cares
I've got scores upon scores sitting on my piano just waiting to be used. Unfortunately I don't use them. I probably should.monkfish wrote:We're all forgetting Skrillex can play multiple music instruments to a professional level.
He writes all his tracks first as sheet music (I can play Scary Monsters, lul). How many of you can say you do that?
i wouldnt know if resampling is overated, i dont come on here often enough.. however i resample most of the time & i pretty much know what im doing when i do so, i have been able to make skrillexy sounds on massive alone.. as well as resampling any bass sound. i find it bit easier to make complex sounds and with more variation when resamplingFilthzilla wrote:Sadly I'd have to agree with the guy who said resampling is overated.
You really have to know what you're doing. You have to start with a good sound to get a good sound out. I hate how people say the Skrillex sound is a reece, put through a formant filter, with distortion, bounced, more distortion, bounced, more distortion, bounced, more distortion and maybe a bit of chorus, bounced, more distortion...
