reccomend some headphones for listening to dubstep?
i need some new headphones.
i currently got some philips shs something or others. lol.
but theyre hooked so they hurt my ears.
im looking for some that are around the $30 and under price range.
i know i know "it isnt possible to get quality for anything less than 100$. but in all actuality, it is. maybe not top of the line producer level quality, but still damn good quality(one for example is panasonic's rp-hs43. excelent sound, nice bass, not too booming, clear, and only like 15$. sadly though, they stopped making them. otherwise id go with those.)
im okay with any style of headphone EXCEPT for the in-ear buds(the ones with the rubber things that go in your ear canal. i cant stand those. due to my ear pressure problems. lol.)
as for sound quality, like i listed with the panasonic ones, not too booming bass, clear, nice equal levels all around. etc.
sorry for being so picky. lol. im just a guy on a tight budget who loves his music. :p
thanks in advance to any who reply.
i should also add, that earbuds would be prefferable(just no in ear :p)
BUT, if there arent any good earbuds for what im looking for, over the ears will do :p

Have a read through those and see if it answers your question. I'd advise against the Skull Candy ones to be perfectly honest.
A good pair of Sony MDR-V150 would be my recommendation for the price range you've mentioned

Re: reccomend some headphones for listening to dubstep?
Seconded on the sony mdr's I got a pair of Mdr v700 for £40 on Ebay ( a little over your budget but really good bass and well above the standard headphones)

Re: reccomend some headphones for listening to dubstep?
In the states, those go for under 15 bucks a pair at Wal-Mart. Their sick if you DJ, they can go loud as hell without any damage, which is nice if you have to compete with a system to hear yourself beatmatch... Also, got a nice little bass response for their price, and the hi ends are pretty crisp... For the price they become pretty disposable so your not heartbroken if you accidentally try to walk off with them still plugged into the mixer and they break... 5 stars for DJs.wub wrote: A good pair of Sony MDR-V150 would be my recommendation for the price range you've mentioned
Awesome to listen to as well when youy out and about and need a set of phones to pair with your iPod or whatever...
Production wise : fuck those things. Theres a big crater in the middle of the mid bass frequencies that i end up blaring to loud when I try to design sounds on them... somehow, my ears tell me to mix my snares in at like 1/3 the db of the kicks... Trying to pick hihats on them is utterly fuckin futile, they all sound essentially the same...
Been buying these 2 at a time for a while now just to beat the shit out of until they break... Awesome product, faithful customer for life... dont produce on them.

Some people take producing music wayyyyy too seriouslyHypefiend wrote:these are my headphones. cost me about 5 dollars. use them for producing all the time in fact I have them on right now.

sorry but what is that supposed to mean? aha?wirez wrote:Some people take producing music wayyyyy too seriouslyHypefiend wrote:these are my headphones. cost me about 5 dollars. use them for producing all the time in fact I have them on right now.
aha they actually sound really nice and have a good frequency response as well I can hear the sub pretty clearly. but i cannot hear on the left side anymore just because i have had them for so long. so I am now producing with just the right side audible.Basic A wrote:Hypefiend wrote:cost me about 5 dollars. use them for producing all the time in fact I have them on right now.

and @thewindat420
i am not quite sure to be honest. you can check out walmart and dude I hate that fan I have it can make me cold pretty quick on the highest level it is set at but it falls so easily it's so thin it could easily fall over from anything it has almost broke several times. it's a good fan though don't get me wrong

I just really admire your love for your art and your dedication to it man, you must really care for producing to invest a whole $5 into your soundHypefiend wrote:sorry but what is that supposed to mean? aha?wirez wrote:Some people take producing music wayyyyy too seriouslyHypefiend wrote:these are my headphones. cost me about 5 dollars. use them for producing all the time in fact I have them on right now.

Re: reccomend some headphones for listening to dubstep?
strange kind of sarcasm there? i have nice speakers, a quality hardware synth, and decent midi controller. does it really matter to you of what equipment i have? seriously man why does it matter? why do you have to be a sarcastic prick about it man? i never said anything to you and you care about me now? am I like your son now? i have no idea what I or you are trying to get at so continuewirez wrote:I just really admire your love for your art and your dedication to it man, you must really care for producing to invest a whole $5 into your soundHypefiend wrote:sorry but what is that supposed to mean? aha?wirez wrote:Some people take producing music wayyyyy too seriouslyHypefiend wrote:these are my headphones. cost me about 5 dollars. use them for producing all the time in fact I have them on right now.

Haha easy mate, don't need to get moist on me I was only winding you up, (strange kind of sarcasm was actually blatantly sarcasm and wasn't at all strange) a bit of humour that obviously went right over your head and right back round into your japs eye. It was a joke, not a personal attack.
