Event Horizon is a mint film

I saw it for the first time about a year ago, it wasn't terrible but it was still a massive disappointment. I think the reason it seems to get a lot of praise is because people are blown away by the fact that Paul WS Anderson made an almost good film, just look at the list of other movies he's directed, Mortal Kombat, Alien VS Predator, Resident Evil/Resident Evil Afterlife, it speaks for itself really.

Hmmm, maybe that's it then. I saw it '99 when it first came out on VHS and it scared the crap out of me. Same as Mouth Of Madness, another horror themed film w/ Sam Neill that was around the same time. Probably be shit if I watched them back today

In the Mouth Of Madness is great, love that one. Thing about Sam Neill is, he's got an appetite for scenery if you know what I mean?

In the Mouth Of Madness is great, love that one. Thing about Sam Neill is, he's got an appetite for scenery if you know what I mean?

Yeah, he does that in near all his films - Sirens, The Dish, Jurassic Park...

Still, I did learn a bit about time travel, space/time and what an event horizon is from watching that film (I can't remember if any of those things are explained in the film but I distinctly remember researching them after i'd seen it).

They were both in space, that's about it, the plots are completely different.
