Advices for a new mixer?

Post by Montgomery Burns » Wed Jun 22, 2011 10:54 am

Sad news : my DJM-400 died yesterday for World Music Day... RIP !

So right now I need to get a new one.. Could you give some advice to me?

I need to choose a 2-channel with a good sound quality (obviously !) and a quality cross-fader for scratching. Aim is mixing Dubstep, Dub, Hip Hop, Drum'n'Bass...

Thanks for your help everybody ! :D

My choice could be the Allen and Heath Xone 02.

i have a Eclair HAK 360 and i'm really happy with it, good sound, great cross fader (optical stuff i think) and i think you can get a used one for a good price. For me it's really a good mixer for mixing AND scratching (my case), it may not be as good as the ttm 56 though but surely cheaper.
Have pity for the bad english of a french guy !

The ttm56 looks huge that's true ! I never mixed with it. But at least 700 € :(

It seems to be a good choice. Apparently it's a magnetic cross

Can't believe how bad mine is though, the background noise for a start is totally unacceptable!! It's only a few months old, should have waited and got A+H

Got a VMC-185XL here, I have a cheap Numark mixer that I used to use for like a stand by, in case of emergency, which has now become my main mixer.

Ahah

Anyway I got lots of troubles recently... It was a second hand bought 3 years ago. I think it's time to evolve !

EDIT : Moreover it's not the best mixer for scratches
