This month, we are so proud to bring TWO of the hardest working DJs in the UK. Two DJs who take their job of smashing up raves to new levels of seriousness. Two DJs who do not need to ride on the reputation of their productions to be known. Two DJs who are only known as DJs and do it better than anyone else: ONEMAN and BEN UFO.
ONEMAN has been making serious moves over the years. He was one of the first DJs to bring the UK scene out of the wobbly darkness in 2007-2008, unearthing 2-Step and UKG classics and rarities and mixing them into the sound of the present. With his DJing, he created a sound that didn’t exist before and helped shape UK music to its current state of un-definability (we like it like that).
ONEMAN now has his own RINSE FM show and his own label, 502 Recordings, which has released some game-changing music like TEETH’s “Shawty,” Fist-T’s “Night Hunter,” and Jay Weed’s “Prism”. He is one of the biggest DJs out there, and we are so honored to have him with us.
No discussion over the direction of UK music could be complete without mentioning the tireless work of BEN UFO. A co-founder of HESSLE AUDIO with RAMADANMAN (PEARSON SOUND) and PANGAEA, He has helped usher in the emergence of such heavy hitters as TRG, UNTOLD, JAMES BLAKE, BLAWAN, and JOE. He also holds down the Hessle Audio show on RINSE FM, which regularly sports some amazing dubs and classics from all over. His appearance at ICEE HOT will be his SF debut.
We at ICEE are completely certain that you will hear some of the most amazing DJing you have ever heard. Also holding down the VYBEZ will be your ever-present residents SHAWN REYNALDO (fresh from Montreal), GHOSTS ON TAPE (whose beard has gotten really grizzly lately), and ROLLIE FINGERS (in the midst of “MOST ANNOYING SUMMER EVER, Part 2").
