Re: Im not improving! :( Please help!
SMART! I pulled my bass out of a kick drum as well, mid range out of a snare. I just zoomed in Live Simpler to a single wave and set it on a loop. For my sub was the kick and just added a few filters and compressed the shit out of it to fix a problem i was having with the attack. Sounded good actually! Mid-range was a bit harder, but the external function of vocoder helped out alot.jrisreal wrote:a bit (lot) more complicated than that haha.samdam1 wrote:From a kick drum.... FUCK
so just granular synthesis and put an LFO on top?
Here's a run down of the process
1. timestretch kick
2. take 5 ms segment from kick waveform
3. frequency-modulate with sampler
4. timestretch again
5. take another 5 ms segment
5. frequency modulate
6. run through FX (vocoder is necessary)
<!-- one of the basses is now complete -->
7. take another 5 ms segment and loop it
<!-- main bassline now complete -->
