Bass affects us in a way that taps into our primordial instincts, we assosciate rumbling, loud noise and sound pressure with major events, i.e large animals, earthquakes, thunder and storms so the bass makes us insticntually nervous/scared and like the rollercoaster it is that fear/adrenaline that we enjoy.
