But because of this boom in the genre – it seems that every mainstream release must come backed with at least one ‘dubstep remix’ these days – and its widespread visibility on the dance music scene we’re getting exposed to more bad dubstep to go along with the good stuff. And it’s not just the professionals at the centre of the dubstep explosion, it’s the young guns making low budget bangers in their bedrooms, uploading their productions to YouTube and shockingly getting tens of thousands of ‘likes’ because the world needed a dubstep remix of a Snow Patrol song. Really.
