"I started djing in 1990 broadcasting radio shows for the italian
Controradio/Popolare Network focused on the international electronic
scene. The inspirations for my sound starts from dub and hip hop and
moves to digital dub, nu-jazz, dubstep, wonky, ghetto tech, uk funky,
beats...
I play regularly in some of the best italian clubs and festivals and in
some of the worst also.
I've played longside Smith&Mighty, Daddy G, Tricky, Soul Jazz Sound
System, Coldcut, Lee Scratch Perry, David Rodigan, Kruder & Dorfmeister,
Questlove, Cooly G, Benga, Mala and many others…
Currently I'm the resident dj for “Vibranite” events at the Auditorium
Flog (Florence) and i'm part of different dj teams “Ragnampiza",
"Off_Beatz", "Muzic Pollution".
'Mixology' is my personal weakly radio show. 'Ragnampiza' is another
one i use to do with the rest of my crew...

For a scene that was once brewing quietly in the deepest darkest depths of South London, it’s remarkable to see Dubstep’s original spacious and organic sound influence heads as far afield as New Zealand. With pioneers Truth leading the way, a thriving hub of 140 producers has been unearthed and among the brightest prospects are Perverse a.k.a. Auckland City representatives Brett & Alex.
 
Inspired by a range of genres from the 808’s and lean of hiphop to the twisted rhythms of hard Drum and Bass luminaries Noisia, Black Sun Empire and Spor, Perverse were drawn to production through their collective love of bass heavy music. Purveyors of intensely dark and uncompromising eyes-down beats, their sound is exemplified by a precise control over shuddering sub frequencies  and a minimal sparseness of construction reminiscent of early Loefah or Kryptic Minds. Whilst their musical influences are notable, Perverse bring their own unique and refreshing take on the sound, with a repertoire of versatile riddims infused with intelligent syncopated beats and chest caving low end.
 
Perverse are rapidly building a prolific reputation and armed with a formidable collection of lethal dubs they have found their productions unleashed in the sets of Biome, Seven, VIVEK and J.Kenzo, delivering trademark clean bassweight, razor sharp percussion and desolate atmospherics. Heavy radio play is further testament to their current prowess, receiving airtime on internationally acclaimed stations including Jay 5ive and Crisis on their respective Rinse FM shows, and on scene stalwart BunZer0’s Sub.fm show which has long been a tide marker for exciting talent.
 
Labels have been quick to recognise Perverse’s superior sub-bass architecture, garnering significant interest with the monstrous Shaded EP dropping on New Zealand’s seminal Bassweight Recordings imprint and Mizrahi on Requiem Audio, this is just the start of a blistering discography. This is music that has to be heard on earth moving sound systems and equipped with flawless execution behind the decks, expect to witness Brett and Alex mashing up a dance somewhere near you soon

FFIUME

Grown up in hip hop culture since the late Eighties, FFiume is a music lover, beat digger, blogger, deejay producer and emcee and, last but not least, a marketing specialist: enter a creative mind striving for perfection. His life and passions led him through the path that goes from Beat Street to Wall Street, to use a joke he often refers to, and still make him flow towards different aspects of today's youth culture and lifestyle. Back in the early Nineties, he began working as a radio host for few local radio stations in his hometown in Calabria, South Italy, before leaving to attend college in Rome, and then living and working in different cities and areas, both in Italy and overseas. During the years, aside his daily business and travels, he has always kept himself active in the music business, producing several indipendent hip hop acts in Italy (L-Mare, Bananaspliff, Rasklatt 5, Loop Loona), launching his own label and collaborating with others, writing for music magazines (Superfly), and now running a web evolution of his label, strettoblaster.com, which was started in 2009 as a creativity outlet and music blog, now evolving into a lifestyle project, obviously linked to the main passions of his founder, and his related crew. Up to you to learn more, holler and show some love, he'll appreciate, for sure.
