SignalRecon - Solid Sunday (check it son)

Post by SignalRecon » Mon Jun 27, 2011 12:00 am

Guys, let me know if you have any suggestions I just exported this because my ears need a break but I'm pretty sure I just need to throw in a hook or something, and any comments on the mix are obviously very welcome. Thank you for your support and feedback!

Instead of adding a hook, in between or even during your 16 & 32 bar sections, just add small rhythmic variation, and layer your rhythms in during the intro to the track so instead of just dropping all your rhythm drop a high pass filter off of the hi hats then bring a steady kick in before dropping the snare in along with the rest of your beat at the drop, that way you don't have to re-write anything or add any new elements to the track that don't necessarily add to the song over all, you could just re-structure a little bit and it will bring a lot more progression and movement into the track. Big ups

Awesome bro thank you for the legit feedback, i actualy will do that, i just went straight to the point on this draft because intros get skipped anyways most if the time. But between 16-32 i have a second Hh patern and a snare slapback adding in, hmmm i should work on it if you couldnt make out the diference.

How is the mix sounding on your end? Decent?

I have to use better dithering options the transition to 16bit over soundcloud is just brutal..

The mastering on my end sounds decent enough, but I'm not at home I'm in headphones cause I'm out and about, so I can't say much for the low end of the tune. Soundcloud has slaughtered the eq on some of my accent percussion or hand drum rhythms in my tunes, it's not always too bad though

Production is sounding alright, kick and snare could be hitting a bit harder. I think its really missing some melodic element or something for people to latch on to, at the moment there's nothing that grabs my attention especially. Keep at it though man, definitely some good ideas in here :)

Yea thats what im thinking too, it needs some sort of hook and + variant post hook right? Or are you talking about about adding atmospheric mellodic stuff to the main drop?
