^ive bothered to watch that vid which is not that bad. but here's one thing that strongly annoys me. he didnt do the first thing id do with the logic compressor which is to bring the gain to unity...

"im just tweaking a little bit, just taking a little bit of gain reduction"

nope, ur doing that + boosting it 4 db.

its hard to judge on the true effect of a compressor when uve got compression and gain changing at the same time...

just wanted to be reaaaaaallly anal.

Wave alchemy drum tools minimal/tech house has loads of clean kick samples which sound pretty good by themselves for electro/tech/prog house etc. They sound better than vengeance too IMO.

I honestly can't stand the Vengeance packs.

I normally just layer a 909 over an 808 to get the best of both worlds.

I was able to make a MASSIVE house kick from using a kick from the Vengeance minimal house kick sample Pack (alot of good ones in there). I processed it loads to make it how I wanted it. and I layered it with a low sub kick which gave it a nice extra low end

Try using one kick for punch and top end and then a sub kick to give it thud and boom.
