From a site selling 'whipped cream dispensers & chargers';

"Where we wont ship.

Due to concern over incidents of misuse (inhalation) of the nitrous oxide gas inside the Cream Chargers we will not ship to University Halls of Residence. For other University addresses, Colleges, Schools, and Hospitals we will contact you to verify use."

Honestly, some people

haha mate, this is funny. Last time I ordered 600 I had to sign a disclaimer, read a declaration and state why I wanted so many!

Here what they wrote
Dear Mr Oliver Grant,

You have now confirmed via our online Declaration of Use that you understand and will abide by the following points:

1.You understand that the misuse of Nitrous Oxide carries a risk of serious health consequences. The risks of inhalation include narcosis, asphyxiation and potentially death.

2.You will take all reasonable steps to ensure the products are not supplied to any person who you suspect may misuse the products.

3.You will take all reasonable steps to ensure the products are not supplied to any person who you suspect may be under the age of 18.

4.You will take all reasonable measures to ensure the products are used only in accordance with the instructions.

5.You will ensure that any signage, labeling or information which relates to or accompanies the products explains its catering use and does not suggest any other use.

6.Your company confirms that it is aware of the hazardous nature of Nitrous Oxide and will take all necessary precautions with regards to the storage and transportation of the cartridges.

7.You will ensure the cartridges will NEVER be put aboard an aircraft, heated in any way, or pierced by anything other than a cream whipper.
Here what my reason was
Statement of Use:
Catering for large party of family and friends for both Christmas and New Year gatherings. Keen to reduce cost per charger by buying in bulk and to eliminate any risk of mis-deliveries in this period by buying in one go, and early. Yours Sincerely, Oliver Grant.

I've done em a few times and never got the hype.
Isn't it the same propellant they use in aerosol deodorants and lighter gas?

nah don't think so. It's just straight nitrous oxide , laughing gas...
Yeah its not all that, but jokes for big parties, its quite communal if loads of people rinse it at the same time!

haha nice. i never had to justify when i was buying it but i remember the postman commenting about my box of nails when he brought them to the door

didn't they make it illegal to inhale it recently after a couple of deaths? probably why they're getting a bit stricter on sales

it's only really good if you have lots of it i find. it's nice in small amounts but not amazing. when you buy in bulk it's worth doing but if you're paying £1 or sometimes £2 a ballon a party for it then it's not so worth it

the worrying thing amount it is when you look inside the dispenser and it's full of oily residue from the lubricant they use to get the gas out more easily. i'm sure that's doing wonders for the lungs :?

I think it is still legal. They definitely banned any kind of establishment from selling it. The compound itself is harmless, which is why it is difficult to ban I think, its just the method of delivery that can cause a few problems - also a 50/50 N02/ 02 mix is used for medical purposes still.

It's strangely psychologically addictive, as soon as everyone has done a round, and recovered, shouts for reloads immediately after are the general consensus. We went through a bit of a mad one a few years ago with it, a few people had the occasional 'bad balloon' where you trip a bit too hard/ don't snap out of it immediately. I personally pretty much stopped completely after doing a 'double' balloon whilst sitting on a on a swivel chair, and subsequently woke up at some point after, looking at blood on the carpet in front of me and with a cut lip.

At one point we tracked down an Ebay seller in central london, when it was late and needed some for a party, and used him several times after that, essentially giving us a N02 dealer in Tulse Hill estate, brixton
