plaid-step

Post by juliun_c90 » Mon May 14, 2007 2:11 pm

saw plaid live last night. played 2 tunes back to back that were sonically distinctly dubsteppy in terms of the lfo bsuiness and the halfstep rhythms.

everyone's at it.

When I saw them at the big chill last year, i seem to recall them playing a fair few dubstep tunes amongst a techno set, I wasnt fully into dubstep back then though and couldnt tell you what tunes they played.

yea man, I was there - as I was walking over to the stage where one of the dudes from Plaid was playing I heard him drop Canyon by Vex'd, and he also played Witchdokta (30Hz rmx) by Moving Ninja and Acid People by Skream. That's all I can remember cos I was a bit spannered but it was a tidy lil set nevertheless.

haha, sounds biggles. Memories a funny thing.

I can remember I was having it by the front right speaker stack! (At the chill stage wasnt it?)

Check the Black Dog's brilliant Floods tune, and even more, the Surgeon remix...

There's a lot of techno people checking dubstep ATM...

Best music tautology ever is when 3D explained to the rest of Massive Attack that they couldn't call themselves Wild Bunch Posse cos that was like calling themselves 'Wild Bunch Bunch'. Hold tight the grammatical crew! This goes out to the syntax massive!

Plaid played a 5am ish set at Bestival last year and got heckled for playing dubstep. I shit you not. "There aren't enough beats" may or may not have been shouted. I can't actually remember. But yeah. Necta Selecta tells this story better than me. I think he was yelling '"Play sign of the dub!" at them.
