They deleted voicemails off Milly Dowler's phone to make space for new ones. This led to her parents thinking she was still alive. It might have interferred with the police investigation.

FP I can't do that give proof, I just dont believe other news sources are as scrupulous as they're implying by criticising the notw. I think some of them are just using this as an oppurtunity to damage the reputation of a competitor. Not that I condone notw at all.

The Times is currently under investigation, I think they have links to dodgy PIs but I'm not sure of specific complaints of phone "hacking"
